claymores are actually the best for most uses since they explode infront of the mine,
so you can hide them out of sight to the side of where you want to trap.
unlike betties and proxies which need to be plonked directly in the middle of the corridor/doorway.

the tops of wide staircases are the exception,
for the top of wide staircases betties and proxies are better due to being flat and harder to spot by people coming up the stairs.
