Jockey at Rank 4/5 will boost your shields by 50% while you ride in an exposed vehicle seat or mount a MANA turret. Bionics reduces your Health pool from 500 to 100 by boosting your shields by 400 to 900 (800 for Infiltrators). So the question is does the Jockey implant still only add the standard 250 Shields or does it add 450 shields by combining the Implant effects? It could become a valuable pairing while on a Flash if they do augment each other.
Short answer is nope, Long answer is that they worded the implant terribly, It doesnt "increase you shield by 50%" It simply adds 250 shield. Like you I was excited by the idea of Jockey+Bionics but no, Jockey just gives 250 shield, Regardless of how much shield you have I actually made a thread asking them to change the description to no longer lie! https://forums.daybreakgames.com/ps2/index.php?threads/reword-the-jockey-implant-description.251511/
Technically, that's not a lie. Jockey boosts your base shield amount by 50%, which is 250. Bionics is then an inverse Carapace, which converts HP into extra shields. If there was an implant which boosted your HP by 50%, Carapace would still only add 500HP. It doesn't matter what order you add your implants in.
but it doesn't say base shield, it says shield, as in "this is my shield, its 950" "i get an additional 50% more when riding a flash" there is no confusion about bionics, it says exactly what it does, it doesn't say "reduce health by 90% but increase shield by 80%" it says "reduce health by 400 but increase shield by 400", no trouble, no confusion, that is what you get, 400 reduced health, 400 increased shield! but jockey claims to grant you "an additional 50% maximum shield health when riding an open vehicle seat." so if i have 950 shield i should expect "an additional 50% max shield health" of 475 when riding a flash.
Yes but it doesn't specify if it stacks with Bionics. Frankly it's probably a good idea that it doesn't.
