Vanu bias confirmed?

Is cold heart the final proof that vanu bias is a real thing?

Personally I see no reason for NC/TR to use this implant beyond turrets, and even then, you'd have to be extremely accurate in gaining headshots to make use of the implant.

For this reason it's best off turned into a faction-specific implant which is awarded solely to VS, whereas TR/NC get their own faction-specific implants respectively.

it is strange that VS get what is pretty much a faction specific implant,
and last patch they got an insanely powerful flash weapon too
(while NC got the uncontested most hilariously useless piece of junk in the game)

Salvage works best with NC, whose MAX units are unparalleled at killing enemy MAXes. NC Bias confirmed then?

The difference is not what works best or worse, the difference is is that cold heart simply Works with VS, while it doesn't with any other faction.

There is a subtle bias against VS surely. Just look at the sleep-inducing choice of infantry weapons compared to the range of amazing guns TR and NC get. VS has been so butchered over the years, while especially NC has remained with clearly the best infantry equipment. VS LMGs died when the devs removed the bit of redeeming quality they had, which was the 0.75 ADS speed multiplier. In categories like Carbines and ARs you get 2-3 good choices and a bunch of useless guns. Where as NC hardly even has any bad LMG, Carbine or AR.

And it's this kind of Vanu inferiority complex that causes the VS to get OP toys like the Starfall. For example 0,75 ADS barely did anything for VS weapons, as proven by the nearly non-existant dip in performance of the weapons. PS2 weapons that are OP fall for 90% in one category: a combination of DPS, accuracy and sustainability. Guess which weapons usually fall under those categories, a hint is "many of them are purple".

LOL, GOOD ONE! TR guns "great"!

No, seriously, clearly you've never actually used them.
  9. Halkesh

    Alright, let's do this !
    NC : salvage
    TR : ransak

    Still not the same

Ok, so "Cold Heart" is pretty much a faction-specific implant, because the VS can get the most mileage out of it.

    Is it OP?

    Nope.

    So?
  12. Skraggz

OP didn't make the post because it is "overpowered" (obviously it's not). Shouldn't have had to point it out, but alas...

i have no clue on the complaints since i just play the game.

    **shrugs**

Why call it a bias then? Why not assume it's a step in the right direction with more empire-specific implants to follow?

ES VS SMGs and pistols are utter trash. Anti-VS bias confirmed?
  16. Campagne

The problem is that it's a VS-specific implant disguised as a non-faction implant while the other two factions get nothing.

You can bet there'd be Hell to pay if NC or TR got a new ES weapon and everyone else got nothing, even if it was rather lame. Even if there truly were two new guns for the other factions coming out hot off the presses it wouldn't justify the period of time where two teams got nothing.

VS' sidearms are largely very similar to the NC's, which are far from terrible. Only major difference between the two sets is the Beamer in exchange for the Magscatter. The Magshot ~ Manitcore, Rebel ~ Cerberus, Desperado ~ Spiker.

To go into finer detail Mag and Manti are almost completely identical, Rebel is slighter better than Cerberus, and Spiker is slightly better than Desperado.

VS' SMGs are also decent, with the Sirius being almost identical to the NC's Blitz and the Canis which speaks for itself, though the nerf hurt it a bit. Eridani is a pretty typical 143/750 gun but suffers the SMG drawbacks as all SMGs do.

There's an anti-VS bias here somewhere, but it's not coming from the devs. :p

    I wouldn't mind.

Sure, it would make sense to release all three simultaneously, but as long as that new weapon doesn't confer a distinct advantage - no rush. Besides, we're talking a single implant here. Let's not blow things out of proportion.
  18. Liewec123

its not about who gets the "most mileage" out of it,VS are the ONLY ONES with heat weapons.
its like saying that NC would get the "most mileage" out of an implant that only effects Aegis Shield.
OFCOURSE! because it will have absolutely no use for TR or VS, for all intents and purpose it would be an NC implant.

    noone is debating its usefulness,
we're just wondering why VS were given a faction specific implant, regardless of good or bad,
while TR and NC were not.

i see people above saying "salvage is the NC implant!" but that is a false equivalence,
NC maxes might get the "most mileage" out of it but the big difference between Salvage and Coldheart
is that TR and VS actually have maxes.
TR and NC don't even have access to heat weapons.

it is worth noting that someone mentioned mana turret as a possible single and only source of a heat mechanic for TR and NC,
but i highly doubt that mana turrets are even effected, because they are counted as a vehicle and not a weapon.

You wouldn't, but half of VS would logically.
Same for TR, if just NC or VS did.
Same for NC, if either side did.
Having one of the possible implant drops, being best for one-side, is kinda odd -- and infinitely less drastic than a New weapon.
    Most ES weapons are paired with the other sides', for new capabilities;
Without these matching ES weapons, which easily could hold a counter-part for the new ES weapon, it gets messy.

Imagine if VS got the original Canis, and TR & NC Didn't get their ES SMG's, till weeks later if not worse.
    --
If the weapon's distinct advantage is absent when the other two's weapons are available, is it conferring an advantage, when released early, or isn't it?

It's a bit annoying, that one side can get an implant, they actually use worth a damn, to add to the list of RNGesus implants..

Unlike say the Canis's original release, the Starfall, and the Obelisk; Where all 3 got something to use, except.
VS won all 3 new weapon batches; of 4 new weapon releases -- and now we have this implant.
