I want to upgrade my implants, is it worth the amount you get for breaking down duplicates into ISO-4? I also want to upgrade other things, would it be a waste investing certs into this? Thanks for your replys.
I would not bother myself - you get 25 ISO for a breaking down an implant IIRC, so you would probably need a load and that costs a lot of certs. I look to take part in alerts for the ISO rewards.
Depends on how much time you have to dedicate watching for and playing during alerts. Also depends on your faction and their win rate. NC on emerald for instance, has by far the lowest start/win rate and I believe they have the most players as well leading to significant queue times during alerts unfortunately... 750 certs guarantees you 225 iso, if you get any duplicate exceptionals, that gets you 1500 iso each. Exceptionals are EXTREMELY rare to get out of deluxe/basic packs though. There is a nice data table on reddit somewhere showing the rates. Another thing to keep in mind, is that they have stated multiple times now that they are reworking the alert system again, so expect the way/amount of iso we get to change too. If you make a comfortable amount of certs and you have all the equipment you want immediately from certs, I'd say go for it. Only max the ones you really want though, with significant rank 5 effects - such as catlike/nightmare etc. Most implants are just fine at ranks 1-4 depending.
Unless you have a VERY specific playstyle and have already unlocked everything needed for it,i wouldnt suggest spending certs on implants. They are very expensive and there s ton of more important stuff to unlock.DBG is the way to go with implants if you re in a hurry and not winning a lot of alerts.
As long as i'm not able to buy the exact implant i want with real money, or a bundle with all implants, i won't spend a cent on implants. If i want to gamble my money away, i take a trip to a casino.
ISO is the new money grab I heard they were looking at adding a few changes to the way we earn ISO. Has anybody heard of this?
I wouldn't do it. Currently you get enough iso from won alerts but unless you already play for years you likely won't have too many certs. I wasted around 8k certs like that and still could slap myself for it cause I didn't expect the drop rates for certain implants(like catlike) to be THAT low(and we are not even talking about exceptionals). Surely enough I didn't get catlike for it...
That'll only works if you play when the alerts are on, and also only work if you win, VS win most alerts on my server with TR winning a few and my main faction, NC, winning barely any, since it takes well over 2000 iso to level up an implant it would take months to get it 30-50 at a time from alerts. I'd say yes buy the big 750 implant packs, but wait awhile, they have a whole load of new implants dropping "soon"
I've never reached the point where I had enough certs to waste on implants and I've been around since before implants. I've always used ISO-4 or leftover DBC to get the implants that I wanted and then only ISO-4 from alerts to upgrade them.
Once you have your general classes certed to a good level, i think its a good idea. It IS just luck of the draw, but ive actually got ALL of the exceptionals using only certs. Still cant get Robotics Technician though :/ Only buy the 750 pack, the smaller pack isnt really worth the certs/implant ratio. Get to 500 ISO then buy a recycler. You wont always get a good one, but the recycler has a better chance for exceptionals. I once got infravision 3 times in a row. Netted me like 4000 ISO total. I have all my classes and vehicles certed to a point i find acceptable, so i just throw every 750 at a Delux Pack. Implants are your last priority.
