[ESF] New Coyotes + Default Radar = Utterly Broken

What I really hear out of all this ranting? "my hover frame rocket pod esf can no longer compete with a dedicated a2a esf and I i don't like it." 1 point in stealth made coyotes completely unusable. seemed broke to me and I'm sure glad the fixed it. how exactly is anyone showing up in radar at 600m getting a drop in you again? It works both ways. unless they are stealth you will know they are there. one last thing. nose guns have a lower ttk than coyotes so if your really good you'll still get that skill less nub.

You're going to need to properly setup the current air meta scenario. You spot a single Scythe while 6-10 of your fellow Mosi (or 3-4 Reavers if you're NC) all burn down the hapless VS pilot.

I might have to see just how good these Coyotes are. From the notes they only got a buff to acceleration and against stealth. But the OP is making it out to be that the Reverse Maneuver and such has been hard countered by a A2A loadout.

I think he's pulling a chicken little the sky is falling rant. But even if he wasn't.. I'd have to say GOOD. Those stupid little maneuvers needed to go. These so called elite pilot maneuvers which are only bugs that the devs let people keep as an accidental feature has caused the ESF to be artificially gimped for years.

Come play TR for a while, learn that it truly is not like that. Maybe you may realise that 'Wow! Maybe they're slaughtering me because I'm charging headlong into their bullets!"

Also, I have never seen a Gatekeeper shoot something out of the sky.

You're just not doing it right. I've been part of coordinated Gatekeeper teams and we've easily taken down all flying vehicles. It's not a solo game.

You could technically do it with pistols. That's not an effective means of taking down air. A last ditch way maybe like any other AV secondary can. Vulcan on the other hand... is actually better than a Ranger.

Galaxies are immune to small arms fire?

*shrugs* I'm a Valker. I fly insanely low to the ground. Curiously, missiles never seem to bother me for much. They're annoying, to be sure, but I can generally dodge them or take them on the belly and get away with only 1/3rd damage from a standard lock-on. Swarms are easier to defeat.

I imagine that will change if they ever alter the missile intercept mechanic which currently makes them easier to block in terrain. When operating in lock-on zones (Where one person is basically dedicated to playing with their lock-on for the next 20 minutes), you need to start off by identifying their camp spot (generally the spawn room or a nearby hill) and calling out to your team. That way, snipers and other pilots know where he is.

Secondly, identify the nearest mountain, hill, bridge abutment/pylon/ or ravine along your flight path. In fact, you should be doing this before you enter the AO when you do your nav-check to set or check your way-points. If you've been set a particularly important mission, define your fence-in or fence-out points with your waypoints. Identify possible escape routes for every base.

Also, as TR, I will tell you that the Striker does require skill to use at range, particularly against ESFs.

Finally, as a Valker, I'm actually for these changes, because they mean my team has more assets to use to shoot down ESFs. Because our defensive weaponry is so weak, we often rely on ground forces to help use tackle fighters (Because ESFs don't like babysitting, for some reason, and the xp reward for aerial saves/escorts is either low or non-existent).

Valkyrie is the best training platform, because its more manueverable and forgiving of collision damage ;) Teaching people basic flight in ESFs just messes them up, in my opinion.

From a biological perspective, people often do have challenges with 3D movement and thinking, as most of human existence is spent in a bounded plane environment: There is the ground, there is the horizon, and you have four directions. Opportunities to go "Up" on the Y-Axes are generally structured and mechanically predictable (Stairs, Elevators, Airplane Cabins) or gradual (Hills and grades).

That said, once people get some experience with it, it becomes dramatically easier. The biggest issue training pilots in this game is actually teaching them to use the thrusters properly. Once you get past that, it becomes a lot about practice, tactics, and general knowledge.

Then how 'bout you get your boots on the ground, and try killing those lock-oners. Pretty sure there's no lock-ons that kill infantry. But wait! You might actually die because you can't zip around a mountain to safety and repair as soon as someone tickles you.

Every time a 'professional esf pilot' cries is like a little ray of sunshine, and it will continue to BE a little ray of sunshine until they remove every form of anti-infantry weaponry from the damned things. Let Valks be close air support, let ESF's be interceptors. Until that's the case, you can take your complaints and generally shove them up your ***.
