I hate "crocodile tears" & how they effect game balance/feedback.

"Crocodile tears" are a false, insincere display of emotion.

If you mix(or use) negative personal emotions such as hate/anger,fear & sadness into game balance discussions it doesn't help anyone.

The worse part is that stupid people will listen to those arguments based on "FEELINGS" and support it, even when data shows the opposite.

It hasn't been uncommon in this games history that nerf pushes( or even pre-nerf pushes) & agendas based on "FEELINGS" not facts(and data), have succeeded.

If you want PS2 to be better, quit acting like school girls fighting over a football jock when it comes to balance.

This game has had problems in both the developmental side & the community side. We always seem to naturally hold the devs accountable or blame them for anything, but why is it that the COMMUNITY and its influence is not held accountable in the same fashion or manner?

If your game balance argument was because something killed you and made you feel bad, then its not a valid argument.

You will die in this game, many times to many things. Get over it & stop acting like a lemming who thinks he is powerless.

.... honestly threads like this should be locked immediately, because they do nothing but spawn even more negativity against each other and the OP.

those that dont get it by now, never will, these threads are pointless.

Either balance the game or get used to people like me exploiting the unbalance. A truly balanced game is one that's linear, has the same **** for every side, and has things like win conditions and even damage. The kiddies who play Planetside want "asymmetrical balancing", this stupid non-existent world where things are balanced yet unbalanced. So case and point, kids are forever going to ***** about this game unless it's linear like every other game or they learn to exploit all the games weaknesses (e.g. Turning off smoke in the .ini file).

What facts and data? We usually just link total kills over a time period, as some divine proof that nothing is unbalanced. I recall ESF rocket pods to be completely brutal and far too easy to get kills with, but what data ever backed that up?

Its really funny you think you exploit things. It's like the ant that thinks he found a shortcut across the sidewalk; he's going to get stepped on regardless.

All this coming from a guy who will refuse to change his opinion even after he is shown to be wrong.

Uh huh. Am I gonna get some long overdrawn nerd post about how this game is for everyone and that it's made the best it can be? Save the fairy tales please.
  10. Negator

Only if everyone includes yourself; gotta do something to trick mediocre folks into thinking their worth something. Keep taking advantage of non existent 'exploits' though lol.
  11. BlueSkies

So does this mean from now on you will limit your suggestions to ideas that can be empirically supported rather than the usual what you feel is wrong with the game today posts?

Tho feelings are for the most part useless in game balance they are still a fairly important part of the combined arms theme. The thing about combined arms is you have infantry vehicles and air and the feeling between thees can be important. For an example lets say infantry had no lock on launchers like in most real life scenarios this would make the interaction between air and infantry just feel infuriating and helpless which would be a detriment to retaining a player base. It is important to supply and balance tools for each part of the combined arms to be able to deal with any of the others. Tho feelings should not be brought up when trying to balance any specific weapon but when talking about the balance between power of infantry air and ground it does serve a roll as you dont want people to feel helpless.

Halo did combined arms right. From vehicles to shotguns to assault rifles, etc. Why can't DBG mimic that?
  16. Scr1nRusher

But people aren't helpless & they have choices.
  17. Beerbeerbeer

This guy is a gigantic troll.

Asking childish rhetorical questions, trying to get you dumbasses to say what he just won't come out and say for himself and sadly sometimes you idiots fall for it.

You and I, we, perpetuate this by responding to his dumb posts.

BF and COD already serve your limited capabilities.

What was posted in the OP struck a nerve.

A current example i could give would be long range AV for the TR infantry as if a tank is a certain distance away they can do almost nothing to enemy armor. Another example would be only for a newer player as their anti air options with the standard equipment is limited to 1 burster on a max or pulling air this leaves new players incredibly frustrated when coming against air and probably most new players to the game that end up coming against a lib or battle gal end up quitting. For the most part you are correct im just pointing out theres a few limited places where it has some small relevance which tho small still exists.
