[Suggestion] The directive reward knife should be better.

The damage should be increased from 500 to 1000.

    Why?

There is nothing special about the directive reward knife currently & after all the work to get it, the knife should special.

The Activatable knifes currently do not count towards this directive(Force Recon), which is a shame.

no keep it at 500 but make it longer so that we can kill from a little further

It matches the mold of a Directive reward weapon - a reskin of another weapon in the same category with mostly fixed attachments as features.

So, it's a knife that looks like the knife it is named after and behaves that knife.

It should be a throwing knife.

Dumb idea, you're literally suggesting to make it OP, I would honestly prefer if they made a secondary fire mode/built-in ability to strkie further than the average knife or be a throwable knife, because why not?

What work to get it? Force Recon is literally just play the game and eventually you'll get it.

    How would it be OP?

  10. Dirge.

Instant kill whenever anyone gets close? Why take a shotgun? Why take an activatable knife? Why even use your pistol?

I love the range idea though, that would be a cool buff.

Would changing it's model from an "Auraxium <default knife>" into an "Auraxium <activatable knife>" make it more palatable?
  12. Tamon

Infuse it with poison nanites for a DoT effect.

Or make the target's head turn into an anime head.
  13. Dirge.

Of course. One requires preparation, and the other is just brutally instant.

How about if it kept the quick knife properties of a normal knife, and, when activated, gained a longer strike distance and the ability to one hit to the head?
  14. Scr1nRusher

Isn't this the same argument more or less that people said about the Activatable knife potentially being OP when in reality it wasn't?

Also Fate..... How many people actually have or actually get the Auraxium knifes?

How often do YOU die or run into a Auraxium knife?
  15. Scr1nRusher

    "preparation".

Take it out & Press B to activate it.
  16. HadesR

Should boost the Directive C4 dmg to :)

Or just give the knife a flashy kill effect ..
  17. Dirge.

So you don't see a difference between 1 second and instant? And you don't see a difference between having to be fairly accurate and being able to be a good 30 degrees off?

    I see the difference.

But consider that everyone can get a activatable knife as long as they have 1000 certs or 699 DBG cash.

While only a few people will get the Directive Knife.
  19. Scr1nRusher

I'm just trying to figure some thing out to make it special & worth using.

There are so many better alternatives than making it non-activatable OHK knives.

For example: the target is hit&EMP'd, so if you hit someone his HUD is gone and his ability energy is instantly depleted as well as his shield (in case of HA's).

Alternative: Target is lightly concussed, slowing his movement and turn-ratio's by a fraction.

Alternative: Every successful hit/kill recharges a portion of your health or shield back.

Alternative: as others suggested, a longer range, or maybe a wider range allowing for easier hits

Alternative: headshots get a damage increase and allow for a OHK, even when not wielding.

Alternative: Faster ability to quick-knife, possibly with longer regaining control of your weapon

Alternative: Faster regaining control of your weapon, possibly with longer time between knife hits.
