What are your favorite zones to fight in anywhere in planetside? My personal favourites are anywhere in indars savanah, special love to Xenotech and Crossroads watchtower, and hayd skydock in hossin
  2. v3rt160

norten indar best place in the game for epic tank batles, vanu archives, ti alloys, xeno tech, regent rock all good places to fight at doing any role, tawrich tech along with is suronding bases is very nice area too, bah indar as wole is wonderful, only continent were geography plays an important role in the game, about the otter continents, amerish sucks entirely, it has a few nice places to fight at like area of nanite reserch but it doesnt make up for the rest, esamir is very nice place, especially the areas to south of the 2 nortern warpgates, nice tank and infantry combat with out interfering much between them, then comes hossin, terrible for tanking, very, very nice for infantry combat overall been the best bases to fight around the center o the continent imo.

    Hossin, Amerish, Waterson's Redemption (Esamir)

Indar vehicles: that whole center/southwest area around regent rock, xenotech, Vanu archives, crossroads, ti-alloys, ect

Indar infantry: I enjoy the infantry fights at Quartz Ridge, the Palisades, and Regent Rock.

Amerish vehicles: The lattice line between the southern and western tech plants is amazing for vehicle play.

Amerish infantry: split peak pass, Ravens landing. NC Arsenal, the bridge base that I can't remember it's name.

Esamir vehicles: Mani and it's surrounding hexes.

Esamir infantry: i enjoy most bases here for infantry. Aurora and Rime are fun. Waterson and Mattherson bases are fun. The walls really make infantry fights a bit less chaotic, so i like coming here for a change of pace.

Hossin: I LOVE HYAD skydock for some reason for infantry fights. For vehicles, probably the area near Gourney Dam. TBH I have trouble distinguishing one area from the next on Hossin so I really don't know many base names.

The bastion? And who doesnt love hayd skydock, its a sunken biolab. We all want to see those things broken and decommissioned.
  6. Pokebreaker

Haven Outpost, Snake Ravine Lookout, and Waterson's Redemption.
  7. HappyStuffin

You guys amaze me that you can remember specific bases that you like to fight in. There are so many of them...

Anyway, I have littler preference myself on which continent I like to fight on. I do enjoy fighting mostly in the spaces across bases (building to building) and it's also a lot of fun shooting down from walls at the zerg.

Fighting inside buildings is fun too as long as it isn't a traffic jam of people where you are trying to shoot through a keyhole space because there are too many friendlies around.

In the middle of a large zerg, it's also fun when you and another player lock eyes and you play a cat'n'mouse game among the chaos.
  8. Borsty

Any fight that hasn't more than 30 people on each side.

The center of Amerish. Raven's Landing may as well be King's Landing for me . The two western lanes at Amerish are fun too, back and forth tank battles and whatnot.

Before Esamir was changed, the bridge battle between Saerro Listening Post and Glacier Station was the best.

SW indar - trees and plains.
NE amerish - trees and plains
some parts of hossin - trees

I basically just really like trees.. Then again I have been playing abundant amounts of light assault lately.

I used to also like tech plant fights. I haven't seen a good tech plant fight in a while. Anybody else experience this phenomenon? Are tech plants just no longer defended anymore, or are they too easily defended?
  11. Kevanov

I like hossin as heavy asault but everyone is playing in Indar.
  12. Thardus

I didn't have an answer before tonight, but now I'd have to say it would be anywhere near NC and TR battle lines, on a big, hard to assault mountain, with open terrain all around, right where nobody expects to find a couple squads worth of Lancers.
  13. Vango

I just love Esamir in its entirety.
It is so small and so open you can get anywhere from anywhere else almost in a straight line.Dips in terrain and generous amount of cover everywhere makes for a happy flanker or wraith flash driver. Infantry in bases is generally well protected from vehicles, making the continent even more appealing to infantryside. Boring and unimaginative base design for most bases sort of ruins infantry play there for me though.IRNV and thermals are rendered useless by the hot white sands and while salt covered peaks of the desert that is Esamir.

I enjoy Indar from time to time, It has areas for everything and is generally well designed.A few big bases and surrounding terrain make for exciting long battles.Bases generally favor the attacking force, providing access to hard to reach high ridges near or directly over the base, even the highest points of mountains are most of the time reachable with a sundy.

Hossin is very disappointingly limiting when it comes to flanking, the foliage, terrain and shields everywhere just funnel you trough chokepoints all the time, the trees and some incredibly high mountains make for a deadly experience when trying to fly.
I bet AA trees have taken more lives then any other form of AA in the game.Infantry gameplay is very exciting thx to the forced verticality and the massive amounts of cover.

Amerish as a whole is really disappointing to me, traveling takes a loong time and moving a vehicle between lattice lines is a PITA.Bases are very imaginative and unique, but some of them are extremely poorly designed in terms of balance.
Between poor base design, restrictive terrain and long downtimes the amazing thrilling action moments that occur at times seem far too few, making me avoid the continent unless an alert is going on.
Which is sad, considering the continent also holds some of the best bases in the entire game.

serious question, why do you play the biggest FPS going in terms of player count........... and complain that there's too many players?
  15. Xasapis

My bathroom ... but eventually I have to leave because I can't take the stench.
  16. Pikachu

I xindd inzae Outh wset to be mostly annoying even thouh i want to like it. Crossroads alwaya end up overpopped. Vanu archives is absolute horse ***( to fight at. Regent rck has mis aligned capgure points whih mkaes it imppssible dornattackers to win without boring 75% pop. Snake ravine always overpopped. Annoying prowlers shoot kg from the bio lab hills. (Bases ttoo close again.

    Pikachu go home youre drunk

Since i'm of a similar mind as the guy you quoted, it's not because the game is advertised as implying a big player count that:

    1. it's true
    2. directly from above point: that it handles it well (from a technical standpoint)
    3. that you must take advantage of that feature

I used to play a tri-faction mmorpg, and you had people liking 8v8 (default group format) roaming around, 1v1 specialists, small groups (2~5 guys) adepts, and zergs trying to take castles/towers and the sacred relics (the latter being the metagame).
You could just play entirely differently depending on your preference, despite people stating pretty much what you did.
It's not because you can that you should: a lot of the game's balance revolves around much smaller scale than 96+ vs 96+. For instance what does an infiltrator's motion spotter bring when everything is shining red/blue/purple? Useless information.
  19. Kazrak

I liked the old Quartz-Ridge better than it is now it was my favorite place to fight
The Hossin design is a bit fuzzy but it is much fun for all types of playstyle (Inf/Vehic/Air) especially the DAMN ^^

Esamir got vehicle nerfed to much in my opinion but that was for the better i guess

But i do have to say that i'm hoping for a really big city as a new continent something where tank drivers get paranoide and you have to sweep through every building just to make sure you don't get flanked
  20. Ballto21

Some ancient Vanu capitol city, long buried unearthed by a natural earthquake or VS trickery, with old Vanu military bases, political buildings, housing districts, etc?

    Ahem
