Why did you choose your empire?

I don't like NC politics (corporatists).
VS are just... weird.
TR is left by elimination. Also, the description doesn't make them sound communist, but I was liking playing as TR before I found that out, so...

Yeah, I don't think it's mentioned anywhere that they are. Bringing Earth together under a totalitarian rule doesn't necessarily equal a communist state. Besides, everyone would still be back on Earth bickering about the price of goat's milk or whatever, if it wasn't for us.

Although, even if it wasn't the original intention the devs have now adopted it with that new Checkoff-sounding voice pack.

I chose TR because they are very clearly overpowered.
Best ESF.
Best DPS on the tank.
Best AI mine.
Best carbines.
Best assault rifles.
Best voicepacks.
Best outfits.
Best AV Turret.
Best outlook on life.
Best LMG.
Best cupcakes in the warpgate bakery.

Vanu because of the music, diverse gun models, epic robot voices, the color purple, infiltrator that actually looks futuristic and best announcer voice

Vanu always kinda reminded me of the Goa'uld from stargate that was pretty much my reason...

I originally played VS because of the alien-tech. Around BR35 or so, I realized all of their weapons felt pretty much the same. I also didn't like the way VS played in general. They either out number you or they don't really fight until they do. That play style got boring to me, fast. Since playing TR, I've grown to hate the VS even more... I thoroughly enjoying killing VS, lets just say that.

NC... I've tried playing NC. I keep trying to like them. But God... They're dumbasses.. Constantly getting TK'd. Try repairing someone's vehicle or a max and they just run off. I'm sure I don't have to go into details, but damn they do some stupid **** XD Their art style is okay, some hit or miss things for me. Same as TR, though. Like the TR Heavy Assault in default armor looks like he's wearing turtle shells on his shoulders. He looks funny to me. Like, literally funny. I want to laugh.

I just think it's funny how the back stories don't make a lot of sense:
The Vanu "worship" technology. They know the Vanu are an extinct alien race. But the guy that speaks when you're taking bases and **** talks as though he's a deity of some kind. Like he's an omnipotent being watching over everyone. Whuh?

Everyone labels the TR as communists and symbols of oppression. Why? Because TR tried to keep everyone safe because the NC founders were sabotaging everything...?

Then the NC... Lol. They talk about freedom from oppression. They're so free, yadda yadda yadda. The "leaders" of the NC are banks and corporations. Think about that...

Same here, minus the hating Vanus bit. I just try to vary it up, fighting one faction too much gets a bit wearisome. Also I think all factions exhibit similar styles of play - there are plenty of MAXes that walk away from being repaired in the other two empires!

I was bored with TR, but I liked playing the underpop faction. Recently, TR got a big surge on Connery from Briggs, while VS lost players it seems like, probably PPA nerf or something stupid.

I'd been waiting for a reason to swap, really, and 2x XP weekend + VS becoming the underpop faction was great timing.

Pulsar C is my third favorite carbine after the Mercenary and AC-X11 but I didn't want to play NC - I hate TR's ranged carbines with a passion and am glad to trade in the T5 AMC and Cougar. Blueshifts are also noticeably better than Mercies and I play a fair amount of MAX. Magrider is also more fun than Prowler albeit I haven't certed mine well enough to use much yet. Orion is also > MSW-R / CARV, at least for me. The only thing I miss is Pounders 'cause Comets are kinda dull/lame. Overall it feels like an upgrade.

I am torn between VS and TR's ideologies and values. I like TR's aesthetic better but not enough to outweigh my preference for VS's weaponry. If I chose solely for weapons I'd play NC but I dislike the ideology and the aesthetic too much.

TE. After being shell shocked on day 2 of the game being launched by TE Prowlers, I switched to TR as my main.

Because of this:

I picked NC cuz the aesthetics reminded me most are Spartans from the Halo franchise and the armor aesthetics for VS reminded me mostly of the Elites from Halo which I hate. i love Halo oh so much but can not pay for atm.

I picked TR because I didn't like NC weapons (except the awesome soundz) and I don't care for shooting lasers and plasma, sorry VS.

I liked their weaponry and the punchy firepower they have. The Vanguard was a solid tank, really punchy and comes with a shield. My 2 favorite attributes, firepower and defense....Im not such a huge fan of high mobility and speed. Though I dont like absurdly slow....im to impatient for that, but the Vanguard seems to be moderately fast enough.

Its a fairly long list... the things that it is better to be than dead...

Now, and NC or VS outfit named Better Dead Than Red would at least make sense (though it may raise some questions as to why they hate specifically the TR so much)

But... Better Red Than Dead is really kind of a nothing statement.

Started off TR because I played TR in Planetside 1, then rolled an alt on NC, fell in with a squad I liked better, and that became my main faction. I have a VS BR 20 but I really don't like the VS aesthetic, plus VS on Emerald is so dominant it doesn't feel right. Better to log on the underdog TR or NC.
