About those MASSIVE tech plant guns...

When are we going to be able to use those? You know, that big gun right by the control console?
  2. Pirbi

Those are shotguns. Large but only good for CQC.

Which will hopefully never happen unless they would cut the thing in size ... it doesn't fit through most outposts and now imagine a zerg of those, totally blocking all traffic.

And it will probably still die to two C4 with no means to defend against it ...

This thing is as fail as the German Maus from WW2

I don't think it's going to be a vehicle you can pull at will. Likely an alert objective.
  6. Zorro

The Maus at least could pass over some bridges, this is more comparable to the Ratte. Also, the main advantage of super-heavy tanks is their psychological effect.

I still keep my fingers crossed this will be the same as the Flail of PS1. But it should be rare, expansive and have very limited mobility and firing arch.

The Maus concept actually had the idea to drive through Rivers using snorkels. However it's downfall was it's severe lack of AI capability. It would have needed close range protection against Infantry from other assets.

This is currently the downfall of all Tanks in PS2, because they can't protect themselves against Infantry unless you mount a Kobalt ...

The ultimate team roadkill device.Teamkilling from other vehicles is already bad enough, cant wait for this tank.It will probably roadkill whole platoons by accident.....
  10. FateJH

Probably nothing will come of it. Just background filler.

1.) Reclassify the Titan 150-AP to the Titan 150-SG (150MM shotgun, fires 6 Viper Shots in a mild to moderate cone of fire)
2.) Give the driver the option to cert into SLUG rounds, regaining Titan 150-AP.
3.) Say it was that Skylance cannon all along.

Pretty sure it's supposed to be an anti-air cannon, but meant for shooting down flying biolabs.
  12. DQCraze

Looks cool...would like to see it in game as an additional armored unit. Hope they can workout the details.
  13. SquattingPig

Tech plants already have a nice base benefit from owning them, but being able to use the base gun would be sick. Maybe like once every 15 minutes, someone is able to shoot a couple shots from it before the cannon has to cool down.
  14. William Petersen

Yeah, it's not like a tank can out-run C4-fairies. Or one-shot heavies who pop out to throw a rocket at you (or, you know, move out of the way of said rocket). Tanks are totes just free certs for infantry.

Wait, no; take that, reverse it.

T'would be cool if they deployed a few static ones around the continents at strategic points. Only way you could use them is if your faction owned an amp station on that continent to power it.

Grab a Tank, go to a big battle and say that again. The most effective things to kill Infantry with now days are not the cannons, but something with sustain, like a Kobalt. Yes you can oneshot oblivious HAs that stand still with the main guns but there is a reason why every Tank has a LMG for point defense.

In super low pop fights of under 12 people, yes Tanks can be strong but in your average 24+ battle Tanks just suck if the enemy has a brain. Seeing 15 Tanks looking at one shielded doorway might look intimidating but seriously, it just drains the attacker and actually helps the defenders if there are other ways out of the spawn.

Not to say Tank spam is nice, I rather see it that reduced in return for 2-3 seated Tanks and way more mobile ground Vehicle combat. Or ways to specialize instead of the all you can spawn buffet right now. PS2 is advertised as a combined arms game on the official site, Tanks should be important, but they aren't. Everything can do the job Tanks do atleast similar or better, especially Infantry.

If Tanks would be so powerful as you said, that they just farm Infantry, why the hell is nobody using any in the "competitive" side of the game or why are there like, a hand full of actual armor themed outfits? It's because they suck and are a waste.
  17. SuperMedicated

How about no? At least on Connery 48x48 zerg battles always end with one side locking everyone at the spawn room and shooting on any kind of moving, certable life with their instagib fest, look for big battles with connected stations that have tank terminals
  18. Aesir

This might be true for a few Indar bases but it's obvious that this was never their intended use and Spawn Rooms on any newer map design have many ways out and can't be fully camped by Armor.

Not to mention that even if you would remove all those Tanks and have the guys in them joining the Infantry battle, you probably would have been camped by MAXs and HAs anyway.

Tanks are not the issue of spawn camping ... and with the bad base design on certain bases aside, you would have been camped by other things. Tanks will never be the reason why you get pushed to the spawn room, enemy Infantry more likely is.

In fact biolabs do have something like rocket engines mounted on the structure. So perhaps you're right.
  20. EGuardian1

If you read the Lore, the TR built the Biolabs as part of the fleet that made it to Auraxis. They DO fly. :p Look at BL-4 Crash site, that's a fourth biolab on Esamir that crashed when it tried to land.
