(VS) NS-11A vs Corvus

So I know I have made a bunch of threads lately, but I think it is better to make a new one instead of adding to an old thread about something unrelated. So for urban combat (Amp stations and tech plants), or mid range, should I use the Corvus or NS-11A? What weapons do you use for these scenarios?'
    Thanks in advanced, N1ghtFeather.

The Pulsar is probably best for amp stations as it can handle most ranges. For such urban fighting, the Corvus is a poor weapon. I have no experience with the NS thingymabob. Corvus is good for supporting snipers or for providing covering fire for advancing troops over open terrain.

    Corvus is better since PU2.
  4. N1ghtFeather

For amp stations and tech plants, is this still true? I am talking about close to mid range combat, not long range. I already use the Corvus for open field engagements.
  5. bubbacon

Sorry, just meant that its better generally all around since PU2 imo. Would I use it in CQC?...probably not, but it does give a better chance at those close-mid range encounters than it used to. Sorta reminds me of the Rhino/Bull debate. B4 PU2 the BULL was a damn joke at 10m, now it might hit something.

I prefer the ns-11a. The corvus has the lowest rof of any VS automatic, so it can be a bit hard to use up close, and even out to mid range. On the other hand, it has almost non-existent recoil, making it pretty easy to chain headshots if you practice.

Corvus and Commissioner is beastmode, in cqc commiss is like a pimary and outside of 10-15m the Corvus practically headshots for you if you can aim, its recoil is baby booty smooth, probably the smoothest of any auto in the game right now. It really shines in field fights with a 3.4-4x, snipers will hate you for stealing their kills but will forgive you when you rez them.

Use the Corvus for open field, its what its good at. Its a specialized weapon so use it for what it was designed for.

I wish it had a ROF like the Gauss Rifle, it would be an awesome rifle then.

NS-11A you could use for about anything else, its an all around weapon, you could use it in open field and not be bad off.

Corvus is absolutely my favourite weapon in the whole game. If ever I'm have a bad run of form, I'll switch to my standard Corvus loadout (I use seven slots for every class), which is basically the 4x crosshair scope.

Corvus works best in open areas, although I do us the night site from time to time. I'm happy using the Corvus up close, it's controllable enough to shoot people in the face up close. I very rarely fire from the hip.

However, I do use the NS-11 quite a lot, because sometimes you need its flexibility, although bullet drop can be a pain in the ****.

For real up close work, I use that gun (can't remember it's name - HV45?) that basically shoot a zillion rounds per second.

For what the OP recommends, I'd take the Corvus almost every time, but I nearly always ADS, even up close. If you're someone who tends to fire from the hip at least half the time, the NS-11 is a better choice; although it causes less damage, it's got a much faster rate of fire and has better accuracy from the hip.

Corvus has higher effective range. Especially with forward grip.
  11. Mongychops

Urban combat is definitely the NS-11A. Corvus is too specialised for long range in this area.

The 0.75x ADS movement speed of the NS-11A means you can peek around cover while ADS better, ideal for urban firefights. Also, you are more likely in large facility combat, to be grateful for the NS-11A's superior performance at close range, due to; the better hip-fire, damage per second, and soft point ammo (keep a 7 shot kill at 15m), than you are for the Corvus's advantage at longer ranges.

All the NS weapons are accurate and reward people who can get headshots, it's more your playstyle/skill that determines what you should get. Trial them, I hear the corvus sucks from most people. I use the ns-11a and used to use the HV45.

Thats the thing... its not really rewarding headshots, but requires them. Any of the other weapons are rewarded more by headshots due to the higher effective DPS. I do speculate that the one thing the NS weapons do better is handling consistency.... no matter the range, you end up using the weapon the same way.

For less investment you can get both the Corvus and HV45 and be covered at all ranges, and even kit them out for less to boot. 11A is a pretty unexceptional weapon. I mostly use Corvus on my VS Medic, after 8,000 kills with the 200dmg/500rof guns on my NC the Corvus is very comfortable and I've got no issue with ADSing headshots even in CQC
  15. N1ghtFeather

What scope would you use on the corvus? 2x or what?
  16. Epic High Five

I use the IRNV on everything. The sway is barely noticable at 1x and I don't like the exaggerated recoil at higher magnifications.
  17. Nakar

You should only use ironsights, 1x, 2x, or IRNV on any automatic. Even the Corvus. I've used it with a 4x as it's probably the only automatic in the game that can handle it but it just isn't worth the hassle.

I've take Reflex x2 / Compensator / HVA / Forward grip for my Corvus when I've buy it but I was very bad at close and long range.

Since 1 week, I'm playing with Reflex x2 / nothing / HVA / Laser dot on Corvus, and now I kick *** at close range. (3 headshot with hipfire at point blank powa !)

I got the NS-11P for free(gamestop card) and it's the only assault rifle I use. It is extremely accurate over great distance. If your up against a max in close quarters it is insanely easy to land every headshot.
    I use a compensator, HVA, F. Grip, 2X sight
