Stop calling NC "hard mode"

Just highlight the rainbow text if you want to read it
  2. MurderBunneh

Not only that but it does not matter that one side is bad or good you balance based on numbers and stats not on some random chumps belief that all the players on one side are bad. Thats just stupid.

So, the API data on every meaningful action in the game by every character are delusional explanations- something tells me you believe dinosaurs were put here by the devil to test our faith in god.

An impressive propaganda machine indeed if it includes strong arming SOE to post false data since release just to support the claims.

Facts do not care about your feelings.

We have the worst players because the difficulty curve to play NC is steeper and many people don't expect that.

We have worse players because our tools are more specialist and you need to train more to use them. Slow RoF, high recoil, extra thought behind every shot because you simply cannot afford to miss...

    ------
    NC boils down to this:

NC gunplay cannot rely on the natural skill of "Aim compensation" - a natural ability all FPS players learn regardless of the for all games of all sub-genre's of FPS, and the NC cannot use it.
    ------

TR/VS can just use their weaponry like any other shooter game out there: Fire a shot, then use that to adjust their aim to compensate for all external factors like: sway, drop, damage, speed, trajectory, vectors, flinch, headshot accuracy, etc.

You've got the bullets and RoF to do that. Most players do this automatically in the first few fractions of a second when the click and hold down the trigger; a round or two leaves the barrel of the gun and the player naturally adjusts their aim to compensate. Simple, common sense, right?

NC has to get their aim spot-on, on the first shot, and cannot afford to wast time or ammunition for aim compensation. If you do have to adjust your aim because you missed that first round as NC, you're already dead as dead can be in a fair gunfight.

NC is hard mode because you've got to learn to overcome human nature and the very skill you learn when playing shooters from all decades, of all sub-genres. The funny thing? Despite this crippling disadvantage, we're still not balanced in reality as this game favours Higher RoF and lower recoil.

NC is full of bad tradesmen because, while we have the same entry-level players as TR/VS, the tools we have require a higher level of skill to operate.

What servers are the NC severely underpopulated on? Think I might make a little rebel guy.
  6. Aegie

Yeah, that and the law of large numbers. It is also completely ignores the fact that they probably have plenty of within person data across factions to completely rule that out or any number of other modeling or simulation techniques they could use.

If the API data is misleading then why for craps sake would SOE not moderate the forums by interjecting an objective and balanced perspective of reality?

Just curious if I'm reading your sig right... NC has the lowest score per hour, but overall it looks like VS is the lowest performing faction. They have the least amount of players, least kills per hour, least assists, second highest deaths and least captures. If we were going to balance based on stats (at least the ones that you have in your sig) the VS would be in line for the first buff and the NC would possibly get one afterwords.

Perhaps, instead the TR could get a small nerf? But then all the of the TR would wine and say how hardmode they already are rofl.
  8. RenegadeHelios

TR thinks the NC are terrorists, NC thinks the TR are oppressive communists, while the VS are religious extremists.

Which is true on all fronts. That's kind of the point of the lore. All are fighting for their own good sides (Freedom of humanity, loyalty, and religious freedom) while the leadership of each is corrupt in some way (Money mongering/profiting with NC, Oppressive communism with TR, and almost a facist takeover from the Vanu GOOODDDVOIIIIICE.)

But yea. Long story short, other than a few specific weapons, NC have the highest margin of error mixed with the lower spectrum of DPS. TR have the smallest margin of error with high dps and magazine count. Vanu are in the middle, with a bonus to accuracy.

Call it blaming the players. I can go on 30 killstreaks over and over in an average fight with my bruiser/blitz/GD-7F/Godsaw/etc, but I can go over to TR and use their stock weapons for larger killstreaks.

We get to blame the tool. Give a professional woodworker a rusty, corroded saw, a hammer with a broken handle, and a few bent, rusty nails. He'll still make something. It just won't be up to par with better equipment.

Where can I see those stats?

  11. Aegie

Unless we are discussing averages then we are forgetting a very important variable. 10 great players will almost always have a lower total score than 1,000 mediocre players but will probably have a much higher average.

thanks for the translation, i CBA reading that rainbow he wrote. ;)
  13. Teegeeack

The chart sort of sucks. It doesn't really tell you anything.
  14. Zerran

    Nope.

Not even going to try and read that.
  15. Robes

I would say NC have the better weapons, they're just not noob/bad friendly, which the majority of the population is.

Do you not believe in the space bar? It's a useful key when composing text.

    The NC is hardmode.

All you TR and VS players should try it sometime. Highest recoil weapons in the game, weird shotgun turrets, long reload times for the most effective weapons...

    Also, BBCode is a pita.

    I'm super cereal.

I'm only interested in stats, not analyzing them. I know my limitation. I was trained in radiation knowledge, not statistics :)

I was going off the stats in MurderBunneh's sig, which appears to be taken from a window of time (around 4 days). It shows the NC has the lowest score, but overall it just shows that the VS are the worst performing. Which I suppose feels right because we have the lowest pop.
  19. Isokon

Note that those stats are from late march, the time when cupboy still was pulling data from the API and posting it on the forums. This is also what Aegie refers to in all his posts. We don't have any scoring data past may, only KPU.

Just pointing out that the poster you were responding to was probably looking at overall totals and not averages. Radiation is sneat.
