About the whole "alert" thing

    It won't make continents neutral each time the event is given will it?

    Cause that will be lame.

    Also with new alert system i can't wait till they start adding stuff like CTF, and king of the hill type alerts

    The continents should become neutral when the alert happens...
    On Ceres the TR pop of 64% sits on Amerish constantly and the NC of 55% usually sit on Esamir while their remaining 37% defends Indar...

    And the tiny 28% VS population can only go to Indar.

    I dont really get the whole alert thing. At least the first cont capture thing. Why does everyone get rewards when noone caps the cont? Seems like nobody will put any effort into it because you get rewards either way.

    no he wasnt.

    they plan to change them but at this stage the alert system will only be working when server pop is low. this is to concentrate the action in a smaller area when not many players are on. its to help focus the action.

    later they plan on changing this. but as of now he is right and you is rong.

    No, he said it was only on low pop servers, it will be on ALL servers just during low pop times.

    No existing territory ownership gets taken into account is what Higby said.

    Its not going to work anyway, it can take days to cap a cont and they want it done in 2 hours? plus it will drive all the players to one cont pop looking it at 33% per side meaning no one could ever possibly lock the cont down.

    that what we mean m8. you can tell this by the use of the words 'at this stage the alert system will only be working when server pop is low' that i used in the sentence.

    If they do this right it will be awesome, but ya there should be some kind of criteria

    This alerts system could open many doors to new objective based play.

    Then there is no point of having this alert thing, as most servers are on medium now, so yeah most of us won't get any alerts, what a silly idea.

    the reward is not big enough and a smaller more frequent alert would have been better as a first (have control over installation xy in 30 minutes)

    Every server hits low population at some point in off hours times, those events are meant to give players at those times some sort of direction and make it easier for fights to happen. We dont know how much time we gonna be given for each alert and what types we gonna get but lets use the continent example they gave, if at the end of the alert nobody caps indar but lets say VS has 75% of land NC 15% and TR 10% the experience will be divided among all 3 factions based on how much land each has, meaning VS would will 75% of the experience NC 15% and TR 10% respectively. Basically even if u cannot achieve the "complete victory" it still gives people enough incentive to go for a "normal victory" because the closest they get the more experience they win at the end.

    So most of the PS2 player base can't even take part in alerts, just a complete failure from SOE. It has to happen at prime time and give every player a fair chance to take part in them.

    They said on the post that "for now it will be only on low population times" which means in the future it will likely happen even on prime times, guess they want to see how it works out on off hours times and take care of any bugs or tweaks needed. You also still didnt understand the point behind this thing, lets say you log in at 3 am server and there is just enough enemies to amount to a 2 platoons but they are spread across all the hexes of the continent so you just cant get a good fight going, them you get an alert to cap "Crossroads", everybody would go there for the event and you would get a fun meaningful fight. You dont need that for prime time as of now because there are enough options everywhere to get a good fight going so it aint a priority, you should read the SOE post it is explained exactly like that there.
