I did the ultra settings mod and it improved my fps by about 10 (going from 30 in battle on high to 40 on ultra) One would think it would be worse but hey for you guys having fps problem give it a try. I tried this on 3 friends computers who were having bad fps too and they got the same result. Also before my fps counter would say [CPU] now it only says [GPU], I haven't seen [CPU] once today, so maybe this forces the gpu to be used more than the cpu GraphicsQuality=5 TextureQuality=0 TerrainLOD=5 FloralDistanceScale=2.000000 ShadowQuality=3 RenderDistance=999999.000000 Gamma=0.000000 MaximumFPS=120 UseLod0a=0 OverallQuality=-1 LightingQuality=5 EffectsQuality=5 TerrainQuality=5 FloraQuality=5 ModelQuality=5 MotionBlurQuality=5 BlurQuality=5 AOQuality=5 AmbientOcclusionQuality=5 ParticleQuality=5 VerticalFOV=74 FloralLOD=5 EffectsLOD=5 ParticleLOD=5 ParticleDistanceScale=2.000000 EffectsDistanceScale=2.000000 FogShadowsEnable=1 MotionBlur=1 VSync=0 AO=1 GpuPhysics=0
Might give it a try, but if it's the GpuPhysics=0 that's giving higher FPS, than using my current medium-high'ish settings may increase it more than 10.
I just tried this - some mixed results. Improved FPS in large fights and in-vehicle views (tank, ESF cockpit etc) - but added some weird stuttering on third person vehicle view. No idea what it could be. But definately an improvement in the FPS side.
Nope, we have similar specs though - I'm on an I7 2700K with an HD6990 - I'm finding that third person stuttering really odd. Not idea how this will affect people with Nvidia cards or AMD CPU's ^^ Oh and yeah, doesn't use [CPU] as often, at least I didn't even see it pop up.
Just saying that since we're running similar rigs, the result shouldn't have been much different from what you experienced ^^ Yet Im getting some strange stuttering in third person. (quite bad actually)
This is not 'Ultra'. I used this config, and sure, i get 10 more FPS, but my game looks like its from 1992. Not really related, but have my favourite screeny; http://cjozsa.com/img/chiss/powpow.png
Well... It could be that a lot of those are placebos so they end up actually lowering your graphics. Put in a 5 for a setting and it just reverts to a 1.
