By your logic, PS2 should be a reenaction of Titanic.
  3. Baffin

If borrowing from the Titanic makes lots of money wouldn't that be a good suggestion?
  4. Iridar51

Borrowing from any source is a good suggestion, as long as that improves the game somehow. I just don't see what it has to do with grossing of the source. Implying that there's any correlation between purchasing a movie ticket and purchasing an in game item is a far fetch.

If Improving their game is the top priority they'd go fix bugs all day, but profit is the real name of the game. Making people happy is secondary to rational self-interest. 3 movies in the top 10 grossing films of all time is a called a pattern.

You seem to miss my point that not every PS2 player is a fan. There's a million reasons why that film had success, and few of those reasons say it would be a success in PS2.

Movies and games are different types of content. If there was profit in it, somebody would have already made an Iron Man game, devoted to that character specifically. Introducing an appearance of that character for one of the classes would make VERY few people happy - specifically, Iron Man fans that play PS2. Everybody else wouldn't give a ****.

Improving the game = making people happy. I dunno how you managed to separate those two, but they're one and the same. Improving the game doesn't necessarily mean fixing the game (fixing bugs).

You can still be a fan without buying in game items.
Where can i see the list or even 1 example?
    Except when they're not: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_based_on_video_games
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man_(video_game)
    How do you know that?
Fixing bugs improves the game so seeing bugs that have been around since launch suggests Daybreak is more interested in making money off new content than fixing bugs to make people happy.

What does this has to do with anything?

Very simple. Superhero comics are mostly popular among adolescent boys. They're gonna see a movie about their favorite character and gonna ask their parents to go watch it with them. And voila, instead of 1 ticket cinema already sold 2-4. The same logic won't work in PS2.

The movie succeeded because of appealing to wide audience. There's the charismatic antisocial main character, there's his cool suit, there's his romance with his assistant, there's the thrill of the story. That's your thousand reasons. If you think that iron man is made by shooting fire from the soles of your feet and that's it - you're sorely mistaken.

That's like taking one soldier and calling him an army.

And what even is your idea? Create a copy of an iron man suit? Copyright violation. Just add rocket boots instead of a jet pack? What does it have to do with iron man?
Iron Man is Tony Stark in a suit. Just a guy in a suit is not Iron Man. Surely not iron man without a suit and just with rocket boots.

There are people who watch films and don't play video games.
There are people who don't watch films, but play games.
In majority, only the people who both watch films and play games will be interested in a game based on a movie.

Considering that games based on a movie and movies based on a game are usually complete trash, only fans will enjoy playing / watching it, and even then the product may be so bad that it would be unappealing even to most hardcore fans.

Never heard of it, which already suggests it's ****. And lo and behold that same wiki pages confirms it:
People who are not happy, leave. People who leave don't pay. It's simple math.
It may seem like an easy choice to you, pretty sure it's not an easy choice for someone actually on the developer team.
You also miss the point that cosmetics and fixing bugs are done by different people. "Hire more people" is also not the universal solution.
  9. Baffin

It means i missed that point because it wasn't there.
    Can you prove that?
So when Iron Man does it it's cool but if Daybreak does it it's not cool?
It's right there in the original post...
Oh now they exist but they're usually trash?
    Personal problem.
Bad reviews doesn't confirm they didn't make a profit. 3 hours ago you were saying it didn't exist.

False dichotomy. They could be indifferent for example.
That's why i said suggests and not proves.
You didn't say anything about that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moving_the_goalposts

So why do you want Iron Man and to reenact Titanic? In Planetside no less...
Rocket boots would only be a good idea if they offered something different from the jet packs we have already.
