Squad Deploy nerf exposes the horrible base design

Yeah, I have no idea why people care so much about these dumb "statistics" and "facts" things.

Just highlighting this. No use in replying past this point. However I am astounded that you aren't aware spawn rooms are much less prevalent in real life urban environments.

There's usually multiple spawn rooms in any American hospital...

With far too many windows as well. Terrible base design.
  5. Giggily

Personally I only care for emergent gameplay in fights. If a fight is anything besides a bunch of tanks circling a spawn room firing HE rounds at all the doors and windows, well, that's just a little too contrived for me. The only thing defenders should be able to do is go pull vehicles from another base and attack the spawn campers from behind because, personally, I like a lot of variety in battles, and the exact same situation repeated forever is just that.

Destructible environments though, much more immersive.

#1 - Actually, it's pretty much just you and Czuu.

#2 - In-game playtime, and vehicle kills (Giggily) are kind of a necessary background when talking about Planetside 2's gameplay mechanics, no?

Nah, I know when I first started playing basketball and learned how to dribble a ball, my opinion's about the mechanics of basketball were suddenly just as credible as Michael Jordan's. I mean, I made 10 free throws. That counts for something, right? People tried to censor me because of my lack of "experience", but they knew as well as I did (though they denied it to the bitter end) that anyone capable of dribbling a basketball is also able to intimately understand high level college/pro point guard play and how it impacts all other aspects of the game. As Allen Iverson said, "We talkin bout practice?"

#3 - Why do you still keep acting as if it's a fact that we sit in spawn rooms and ***** about "insert Ghost's list here". Our TS goes more along the lines of, "Ok everyone should be in their deploy screen 3....2....1 Drop," or, "HAHA, who just accused you of aimbotting?" You're welcome to tune in, my twitch link is below. I realize that's probably too ambitious for an internet psychologist such as yourself though, but the offer is there.

TL:DR - We're playing a different game than you. Combined Arms Warfare does not mean, all aspects together at once, at all times. Creating small areas for infantry fights will not cause what you say it will, the players will not ALL get out of their tanks or quit shelling random walls. You're so black and white in concept, "Infantry only area will ruin combined arms." Uhh no, it'll let the people that want to fight infantry...fight infantry...and the people who want to fight tanks...fight tanks, and shoot infantry. Abstract concept's to be sure

    Wanna know why?

Because guys like you would really complain if you had to maneuver more than 10 seconds before you met the enemy.

Also, there is no such thing as PS2 spawn rooms in real life.
  10. Flapatax

    Orly?
  11. TheFamilyGhost

Because they can be manipulated in any way one wishes.

Get back to me when they put in victim TOM, and death TOM. I bet we'll find out you're a camper/campee.

But in the meantime, calling upon video game stats as a method to prove one's ability to reason logically in real life is about as adolescent a mind-set that one can encounter these days. Congratulations.
  12. TheFamilyGhost

Not abstract, OLD. Been there done that, I want all the ingredients now, not just one.

I'm sure you know PS2 doesn't cut it as an infantry only/tanks only/air only game. There are much better games that do that.

Let's look at Wikipedia definition of Combined Arms (now I know why you guys haven't referred to it yet, LOLOLOL):

"Combined arms is an approach to warfare which seeks to integrate different combat arms of a military to achieve mutually complementary effects (for example, using infantry and armor in an urban environment, where one supports the other, or both support each other)."

So, you are wrong. You should pay more attention to your studies than video games. Furthermore, the wiki definition of combined arms supports my premise that removing one or the other from the area of operations in a self-serving and arbitrary manner will wreck what the game currently offers: a combined arm experience for everyone.

You guys think you can manipulate what the enemy wants to bring to the fight by complaining about it nonstop. How juvenile is that? Would you really choose to cry and cry until the bad man is gone instead of figuring out how to beat him? And would you make it public? Wow.

You are aware that "urban environment" and "indoors" aren't the same thing, correct?

    Racist.

It's more like removing an ugly rug you've hated and finding all the mold it was hiding. Should you have thrown away the rug? Yea. Does putting it back solve anything? No. Do you still have an issue? Mold.

Good luck succeeding in "the big boy world" or whatever you call it if, when anyone points out that you pretty much have no experience in a subject, you reply that statistics can be manipulated and don't reflect your reasoning. Because we all know that having next to no experience with an aspect of a game means that you still have an excellent understanding of it, just like in real life. It's why you don't have to go to school in order to be a doctor or an engineer.

PS, I'm glad you're using an acronym which I'm almost certain you're the only one who knows. Doing wonderful so far, TFG, keep it up.

Continued ignorance of both the idea presented and game mechanics. Never said tank only areas.

Replayability is an odd choice of terms considering the entire game is an open world, so you can do whatever you want. You could sit in the warpgate all play session if you chose. If there's a fight you don't enjoy, guess what...there are other fights in different areas. Actually, bringing up replayability in PS2 in any form is probably one of the most absurd things I've ever read.

Regarding continued tweeks, it would appear the developers agree with us in general. Most of the base design changes they've made have reduced vehicle spamming on some level and made facilities more dependent on infantry to attack/defend.

Continued misrepresenting my OP. There is no protestation of the SL spawn (in fact, I stated it wasn't a good mechanic). I like how you continue to also try to discredit my OP by asserting I'm fooling the vehicle users to pull a fast one. As with your good buddy Czuuk, that's pretty insulting to them that they would fall for my devious attempts so easily. But no, it's not a simple concession; it's an acknowledgement that if we did #1, we'd need to complement that change by giving vehicles a better defined role.

Ender streams pretty much all the time with voice comms active. You are free to join, or you can watch his highlights. It's a crazy thought, you might actually educate yourself so that you don't make so many bad assumptions about my outfit.

I don't know what you're talking about with regards to your avatar. And that's humorous that you assert I don't want challenges. And you've yet to proven anything bad other than your knowledge of game mechanics and your knowledge of my (and my outfit's) playstyle.

As stated to your buddy Czuuk...if we wanted higher KDRs, we'd be in vehicles. ;)
