Game is extremely choppy

Hello, I am having issues with extremely volatile framerates. If I am sitting in the warp gate or just driving around I can generally get 70 fps, but when it comes to places like bio labs or tech plants it seems like even a small molecule of a skirmish sets my frame rate choking. In large fights its extremely bad, with the framerate dropping intermittently from 70 down to 1-20 and then back up, over and over again repeatedly.

I figured this was a problem with my old rig (which was about 3 years old) and decided to upgrade. Now up until that 'optimization' patch I was fine even on the old rig - I still averaged around 50 fps. Seems like since the optimization patch things have gone south and now its unbearable. So I built a new rig, and lo and behold it is still doing the same thing. I have tried every possible configuration for graphics options, super low render distance/quality, ultra settings, etc. If it has a slider or if it can be changed in the config filesI have tried every possible combination and nothing has worked, even unparking my cores, overclocking, etc. I am using AMD though, and one of the new FX series to boot. From what I have heard so far a lot of amd users are having issues. Any approximate fix time? It really is unbearable.

There's nothing wrong with your computer, the game was developed on a horrid engine. It doesn't use your CPU power efficiently or to its fullest extent. Everyone has being experiencing FPS issues since GU4. I don't think its possible for them to fix the issue without rewriting the entire game engine.

Have you downloaded the latest video drivers? You probably have, but it's never bad to ask. Do you mind me asking what video card you are using?
I was having terrible framerates as the game came out, so I started using the following settings to make the game bearable:

Oh yeah, using a gtx 460. Probably the oldest part in the machine, but whenever I start choppin my framerate has already switched over to cpu.
Processor is a fx 6300 if anyone cares about that, either.
    **Oop, 6100, mah bad.
  5. WHIPLASH

If you have a good aftermarket cooler, overclock that CPU, it's as strong as a wet noodle at stock speeds. I was able to get playable FPS from my 6100 at 4.3Ghz. I still see drops to low 30s but never below that.
  6. TheOperation

Yea I think its absolutely absurd for my system to be getting around 35-40 FPS in large battles; the in game FPS monitor shows that I am CPU bound in these scenarios. Which begs the question what kind of processor will run this game at a solid 60 FPS ? and I think the answer to that question is none available to consumers.... case in point I have an i7 2700K oc'ed to 4.8GHZ and it still only achieves 35-40 FPS which is absolutely foolish.
