So seriously .... is EQ going to get any new marketplace / player studios stuff anytime soon? (ideally housing items) Today is patch day, so I'm little hopeful. Did we run out of player submissions? I thought there was a back log at one point. Are people still submitting? Can't help but notice the top grossing items are usually ornaments, guess that doesn't give much incentive to create housing items.
EQ has one shared marketplace resource right now and it's me. I'm working on 4 games and one game proposal at the moment and I can't get to it yet. I'm very sorry. I wish I could get you to help me.
I can appreciate that , and please understand that I meant no disrespect, I was honestly trying to understand what was going on. The fact that there is only one shared marketplace resource right says more about the company, and their view of the marketplace / player studio then you. If there is anything I could do, I'll gladly volunteer. Is it safe to assume then that there are submissions coming in? Above is a pretty extensive list of items for EQ2, is there a similar number of items coming to EQ soon? Has the model gone now officially gone from a few items every week to a whack of items when possible?
Rest assured there is a long list of items that have been sitting at Accepted for a year or more (I alone have three items Accepted over a year ago). And Rick has had many of us Player Studio artists volunteer to help as well (again myself included). Their policy has long been to only release a small number of items at a time. And it's true from a sales point, they make more money that way, and so do we, so I'm fine with that. But now even if they wanted to release everything at once for EQ Rick doesn't really have the time to do that. So the best they can say is, just keep waiting. **EDIT** And as was mentioned in the private forum for PS artists, several of the EQ artists have stopped submitting a while ago because of the backlog.
The model is currently "do the best you can with the resources you have" just like any other company. The quantity of submissions coming in is directly related to how fast things are getting released. If I could crank up the engine and get a bunch of stuff coming out, I would. But I have literally pushed new code to EverQuest 7 times in the last two days and I'm not sure yet why my changes have not been reflected. I'm just learning how to do this. I'm slow because I haven't learned how to do this stuff yet. And I have a lot of people watching me and pushing for answers on when stuff will happen. I don't know enough yet to answer questions about when.
More EQ2 items going into the marketplace on May 18. I am too swamped/understaffed to get to the EQ1 stuff right now but I'm doing what I can.
