Are submissions still possible?

I realize that this forum is dead but since the submission page is not working and directing me to post here, I will.

Is there some new way of contacting the team? I have an old player studio e-mail address so I sent my query that way but have no idea if someone will see it.

Thanks in advance!

The Future of PlayerStudio

As all you creators know, PS has been put in a dark closet and hasn't seen much daylight of late with long processing times of our created assets.

With the new Escalation update, the population has skyrocketed higher than it has been in the past few years. I feel with that update more people will continue to flood into the game which can help increase our payout on our royalty checks.

The more people that plays the game, DayBreak/Rogue Planet makes more money and can lead to the increase the staff size little by little. Which could eventually shed more light to PS, hopefully taking it back to the beginning of PS where it took a week or two to get our creation(s) in the game.

Lets pray to the PlayerStudio GODS, that this happen within the next 6 month to a year. I honestly miss creating Camos and Helmets.

UPDATE: Wrel said in a stream that PlayerStudio will put more attention, they just have to get a pipeline/processing figured out.

Flight/Pilot Jackets for the Air Community

I wish to work on this idea, and make it possible to be added in game.

the main challenge is acquiring the correct assets (rig/model) to use. i have bone/model rigs for each faction for female and male which i am working with. but will only find out at the end or mid way through if they are the correct rig or they are out of date.

Still running through what names to give each jacket , alot of them are already taken.

Here are my concepts for each faction:

Curious about PS2 PlayerStudio status

So I have not submitted anything in a while when PS2 was in its decline on player base. I have been very pleased to see PS2 regain momentum with its great updates and have enjoyed playing the game myself once again. Im curious to see if there are still semi-regular additions to the in-game store and especially if there are Devs in contact with the PlayerStudio semi-regularly.

Im not seeing a whole lot of forum activity, but hopefully theres just a bunch of lurkers waiting for life to spring back up? Devs included? eh?

State of PlayerStudio

For everyone that has been around since the beginning can say, the state of PlayerStudio is pretty much non-existing. Ever since SOE sold off the company things went downhill for us PlayerStudio Creators.

There was a time when we submitted anything, it would have been reviewed within a few hours or a day. Now we all have been sitting on our hands waiting for our submission to be reviewed, and to be given some feedback on what needs to be fixed/changed in our submissions. We all have been waiting for 6months to a year, yet our submission sits idol with the "Valid Status". It sucks because I want to make more money, but my checks have been the same amount for the past year and a half.

There haven't been Devs on the forums since TRay left, the only person that was there to help us was Syrah. He didn't know much but he steered us in the right direction for us to get answers. Now that he's gone. There's Dev or Rep on the forums.

With the massive layoff, what is the "Future" holds of PlayerStudio?

NC Reaver Chimera

This is my latest submission, I took this from scratch to final, submitted product in just 48 hours. I submitted this about 8 months ago, and given the current state of things around here, im not sure if anyone from Daybreak will even look at it. But bygummit, I'm proud as **** about this one, and I still want to talk about it.

https://imgur.com/a/loiYwak

I tried to make something that could be a fitting NC counterpart for my Scythe Usurper set. For a design prompt, I was thinking about a stealth bomber, a vicious dragon, and a box full of knives. I think I may have also subconsciously worked a bit of Starfox into it, but it was not intentional. I started working a dragon head/face into it, but I pulled away from that idea, because it seemed a bit cheesy. The face structure is more ore less still there tho.

One thing that delightfully surprised me as I was working on this, was how all the sharp, complementary lines kinda create a faceted effect. As you spin it around, it kinda just clicks together and creates some very unique silhouettes and shapes, depending on what angle you view it from
It's got far better compression rates than a normal ZIP file.
- Use 7-zip to unzip the files to the location of your choice (make sure it's all in a folder).

And that's it! Just run "PlayerStudio.exe" in the "PlayerStudio" folder. It should work like a charm!

END EDIT

Here's a little guide so you can install Player Studio anywhere you want! And since this installation isn't in the Planetside 2 folder the textures won't be overwritten when launching Planetside 2!

First you need to download the Planetside 2 test client, which includes the PSView program.

There are two methods. Method #1 takes a little bit of work while Method #2 requires at least 16 gigs of space. With method #2 it might be possible to place the PlayerStudio program onto a USB stick and run it on other computers (can't test this myself).

Method 1 Steps
(requires Planetside 2 to be installed on target machine).

1. Copy the "Player Studio" folder within the "Planetside 2" folder.

2. Paste the folder to your new location.

3. Open your new "PlayerStudio" folder, then the "plugins" subfolder.

4. Open the file called "PlayerStudioPlugin.ini" using the text editor of your choice (I recommend a free program called Notepad++, but default Windows Notepad works too).

It should look like this:

5. The PlayerStudio program uses this file to find all the assets it needs. Since it's not in the Planetside 2 folder anymore it can't find the assets, so we've got to direct it to the right files.

Update (Jan 29/2016): This ini file has extra and unnecessary information in it. Reduce it down this before continuing:

Your file structure will vary, but your INI file should look something like the below image. I have mine installed via Steam:

...Naturally your own file structure will be different. Replace the path before "Planetside 2" with the path to your installation.

Note: I might have gotten one or two of those paths wrong, the dots and backslashes confuse me. But the program seems to work 100% with those data values.

6. Copy your PlayerStudioTextures folder into your PlayerStudio folder (like you normally would).

7. Your new PlayerStudio install location should now work! Mine does anyway, no errors on my side.

Method 2 Steps

1. Copy the "PlayerStudio", "GraphicsData", and "Resources" folders.

2. Paste those 3 folders into a new folder where you want the installation.

3. Place the PlayerStudioTextures folder into the new PlayerStudio folder (like you normally would).

4. And that's all! No data editing, the program should just work as-is.

I hope these help folks out! The file size of Method #2 could be reduced but I'm not sure which files PlayerStudio needs.

Yes, I'm going to swallow my pride and pay the person would be willing to take on a task. (Not much money, but pay no less.)

Outfit decal status

Hello,
I'm one of the outfit leaders of "Sentinels of Conglomerate" playing on Miller server as NC. At our last outfit meeting I was selected to explain HUGE delay in getting our outfit decal to live server (getting public). It's almost one and half year since our outfit member "SzympanZ" submitted an item on Player Studio (November 2015), get all that tax procedure registration done and waited for our decal get on the live server.
Can You inform me what is the status of our outfit decal registration? And how could we make it finally get public? Because as I see other outfits decals showing on live server even after 2 months from submitting them on Player Studio. Where this delay in the case of our outfit decal? Should we make complaint and start all that "Submit an Item" procedure once again from the beginning?
Looking forward to recive some information about status of our outfit decal and some solutions of the problem.

Regards

Scrub needs help making air canisters.

Currently trying to get gud at blender to make Planetside stuff but tutorial videos only get me so far, talked to fuzz and lobster in another thread but here's there official one. Trying to make air canisters (resembling scuba tanks) and ran into some issues. Here's a few things I got so far:

Round Cube, cut in half, extruded down: https://p3d.in/vLhs3

I just tossed it in p3d just to show what I have, but I just have a few questions, how would I take the top and extrude a cylinder, considering its a round cube with all the flat edges. I tried doing this with a UV sphere and the lighting or something had a stroke (next p3d).

https://p3d.in/3C9E8

Also, in this one I tried using some loops and scaling them inwards to make a bottom, would this be the way to go at it? It should be flat so it doesn't have that weird fan look to it, but I can't tell for sure.

Sorry if I'm not very perceptive to advice, like I said, I'm a scrub at this stuff lol.
