As long as there is something in place that can teach the user how to use it effectively, I say make it as complex as you want.

As long as they make sense and are accessible to the players, I have no preference. If I don't get it, I wont use it.

Complexity is obviously no issue! Love having design tools that can really be worked with.

This is the only GOOD thread out of 4. Who cares if dwarfs have beards, of COURSE ppl want more races in game the most races you can pack in the better. Make the minecraft stuff as advanced as possible. Everyone knows someone will come up with some CRAZY mind blowing stuff. Give us everything possible.

The more power we get the better I say. Having access to them for everyone is amazing, but I don't want to limit those who have the artistic ability to do some really crazy things because they are simple and limiting.

More complex than Minecraft, but simpler than sculpting tools from the likes of ZBrush or 3DS Max. Developer tutorials would also be great and give us a good place to start, but I think the real creativity will come from the players that continue to push their designs to new heights and might require future additions. I would hope that as the game changes that Landmark also gets updates and new tools to try out as well.

I think if you give us a tool extremely complex but that can do anything we want with it, we'll learn to master it and we'll eventually even get better than a few of the devs =)
That's just how good a community can be so, just throw everything you have at us and let us do the rest ourselves :D

Landmark tools are not enough. We want full character creation tools! Modeling, rigging, animating, textures, particles, the whole works.

And we want the data format for our creations and the full rights to use them in other projects (unless featured in EQN, then part of the deal could be forfeiting those rights).

    Complexity all the way.

I don't mind if it eases the user into it but needs depth for sure.

I could not be happier with the presentation, unless of course Landmark was available right now! :p
All joking aside though, I am stoked to see a robust tool set that is as inovative as EverQuest Next is itself. More power with ease of use than those tool sets that have come before them. Drag & drop trigger scripts for adding traps, doors, interactive elements (switches, levers, buttons etc.) and more.

Full tools please! I am always impressed with what people can make and with more tools there will be a higher level of creativity I believe.

Agreed, and C-script or Lua, I want my trap to blow up kera warriors who are wearing pink. That kind of control.

I just really hope they don't try to say "Sorry, anything you create with our hammer is ours".

Exclusivity is the best choice here with complex tools to weed out the ******* clamoring for their crap to be added.

Make it possible to have a 'complex' mode and a 'simple' mode and have settings in between so that different levels of users can decide what they want.

I'm more concerned with the power to create. Anyone dedicated to creating will learn the tools no matter how complex they are. Though my preference would be to have a basic set of tools to start throwing blocks down - and then a more complex set to really refine the creation.

lease give us the same variety of tools the devs have. I don't want my creations looking second rate next to the rest of the world.
  20. Charlie New Member

Yes. More power in the hands of the players. Let them have the rights to their creations and be able to export them for use in other projects. Do not try to claim that because you provided the tools to build the house, you own the house. If you do that, someone will come along that doesn't, and you'll be fighting a losing battle trying to control and exploit the creativity of your player base. I do not want to see that happen and want EQ Next to be successful.
