I know there have been numerous threads about the pet class for necro's and wondering what is best. From what I have gathered our warlock and assasin pets are not really effective. At level 20 I picked the FH pet, and I like him. I've also heard people say he looses his thunder around level 32. At that point switch to an adept UA. If im not mistaken the UA is a level 24 pet, and only 4 levels higher than FH. With this being the case, is it more benificial to pick up a UA adept eairly (I'm level 24 now) and start using him? I'm just curious which is infact better in the mid twenties. Which does more damage, and which have more health? I know its kinda redundant, but I guess I'm just not grasping it. Also, until this new expansion hits, is the level 24 UA our last "tank" pet? If so, do they beef up our dps pets better at much higher levels?
I only have UA adept 1, but until level 33 FH was the better pet in my opinion hands down. Maybe if I had the adept 3 it would have been different, but thats just my experience. Now, at 36 I like the UA alot and he does hold aggro very well. At 38.5 we get our next tank upgrade, the Rotting Thrall, and he the superior pet at the moment all the way to 50. If the spell pattern holds out, we should expect to see our next tank pet at around 52 in the first expansion. Hopefully by then though, we will have at least some fixes to the other pets and may have some other viable pet options. Eirgorn
Yeah, I used the Fallen Hero through 32 and then had the Undying Adherent Adept 3 that I used through 38.5 and plan on using the Rotting Thrall Adept 3 through 50.
What is the rare that is needed for UA Adept 3? Seeing as I have some time till 32, I was hoping to harvest what I need to supplement the cost due to the fact that I'm always broke har har! Furthermore..... What is the component for RT Adept 3, I should be trying to dig that up too If you could also say what Teir they are in, that'd be great! Thanks in advance. I use the UA master 1 (undying Escort)...same zombie look but taller and a different name.....but he hits very hard and often uses the barrage in combat. I'm happy with him so much that when I hit 30th I.../respec'd... early and chose the packhounds and also chose the Opal seal instead of the Hero (rest in peace you stitched idiot). Anyway...im also a 50th alch on my main. The rares you need for adept 3 inks are as follows: T 1 Level 1-9: copper or lapis luzil T2 Level 10-19: Silver or Coral T3 Level 20-29: Jasper or Palladium T4 Level 30-39: Opal or Ruthenium T5 Level 40-50: Ruby or Rhodium (yes 50th level is technically T6 but use these as well) **please note that you do NOT want 'opaline'...terds out there often try to get a sucker. ***please note a dehydrated opal, opal Geode, fractured ruby/coral etc will work just as well as the orginal. (key part to see is the 'this item may be REFINED DOWN to be used....blah blah) ****side note: if you all lookin at armors etc dont get suckered by INGOTS....a steel or ebon ingot is NOT the same as an ebon (see note ** above). they are used for arrow heads (worthless since damage is determined by bow anyway). ***** when in any doubt right click a chat window you have for chat options and join the CRAFTING or TRADING channel...odds are you will get some answers without a high risk of being 'conned'. ~Nomicon 33 Necro on Oasis 'Sheesh Nomicon, you always saying you have a bad feeling about this'.... .....'Yeah well when we get back with out you...i'll call your folks'.
Its tricky because if you choose the Fallen Hero you don't get to choose the pet buff (opals aggravating seal). This buff made a massive difference to the UA's ability to tank. Having never had the FH I can't compare but its worth considering since without respec you don't get opals. I still use it. My adept III UA was up to the tanking job right up to getting Rotting Thrall.

I thought the Fallen Hero was better than my Adept III UA through 32, but of course with the Hero, I didn't have the pet buff. When I respeced at 33 and took opal's, I immediately noticed a big improvement in my UA. I don't have the rotting thrall yet but my adept III UA is doing just fine for me at 34.
