Yesterday in Sinking Sands while under Lich form I casted Torrential plague ( Encounter wide DoT ) on a group of 6 scarabes. For each of the target hit, it seemed to methat Lich procs it 300 ish dmg.

    1) Was I dreaming ? ( 1800 dmg for a proc is rather nice :smileyhappy: )
    2) I dont think the healing portion ( 74hp at adept 3 ) was multiplied by 6...what do you think ?
2a ) If that is so... would you consider it a bug ?
  2. ARCHIVED-Sosumya Guest

Yup lich does that. it accounts for about 30% of total damage in my fights. and I don't know if you got the heal proc for each and it certainly is not a bug... IMO
  3. ARCHIVED-Kniives Guest

For the bug, I meant : Do you feel you should get healed for each proc ?

    ie :
    Torrential plague on a group of 6 = 6x 300 dmg proc for 1800 + 6x 74 hp heal
  4. ARCHIVED-Sosumya Guest

it would be nice but I dont think it should. other classes hate us enough as it is.

It does give you the heal for every mob it procs on. Here is a piece from my log last night:

Interesting that it does give you health for each, as our PBAE lifetap does NOT do that.
  7. ARCHIVED-Eirgorn Guest

Going by the spell descriptions, that is as intended.

The Accursed Cloud spell says it 1) Does XX damage to targets within range and 2) Heals you for YY.

Lich's proc description says that upon successful casting of a disease based spell Lich's Siphoning is cast on the target of that spell. So if you cast an AE, you have multiple targets which are effected (potentially) by your AE and for each one that is - Lich's Siphoning procs - for both damage and the heal.

SK's level 55 ancient spell - Tap Vein - is a PBAE lifetap too, but it does heal the caster for 466 x N if it hits N mobs. Maybe accursed cloud is bugged and should do the same?
  10. ARCHIVED-Eirgorn Guest

Yeah that spell is nice, but I assume it is so good because it is an ancient spell and it has a 60s or so recast on it (which isnt too bad).
If necro's PBAE line acted the same way I would think it would be overpowered - ad3 of the level 58 version Infernal Cloud hitting 5 targets (although it isnt limited to a number of targets) would heal the necro for
    466 x 5 = 2330 for the AE and
    74 x 5 = 370 for the lich
= 2700 hp heal for one cast on a 25 sec recast timer just seems over powered : )

If you want to get technical, it could be argued that an AOE DOT is really only one spell. I mean you are only pressing one button, and your char only waves his hands and says the magic words once. Obviously in the underlying game its not implimented like that - your aoe dot is a n spells in 1 cast, which is happy happy fun time for lich. The aoe lifetap would be only returning one hit of life because its coded as N damage hits + one heal.

I could equally see either spell falling on either side of the fence, we just happened to end up with it this way - a bit inconsistant, but i dont think it seems majorly wrong.

Keep in mind ive never used any of these spells so im just theorising.
