I started playing again after 5 years and as expected the game has changed significantly. I am at a loss as to what spell rotations I should be doing against single and group targets. I have bench marked a few raiding wizards AA builds but updated information regarding spells is difficult to find. Currently my equipment is a work in process and realistically I will be unable to fully gear prior to the next expansion.

    Thanks for any help.

How much damage can you expect from casting each of your spells?
Figure that out. Use math or use ACT.

Divide that damage by the time it costs you to cast that spell.
You now have the damage efficiency for said spell.

Sort all your spells by damage efficiency. largest to smallest.
Now repeat this exercise for 2, 3, 4...... number of targets engaged.

There is the framework for YOUR spell rotation, based on YOUR equipment/AA.

For wizard specifically the next step is to figure out your perfect FB.
Then learn to manage your temps to maximize said perfect FB rotation.

If I told you exactly what I do, it wouldn't be exactly what you should do.
Spend a day and work out the details...
You will already be more informed than 90% of other players.
