I used to use Imgur until its links stopped working here on this message board. It just... doesn't work.

To hell with Imgur. They're getting stupid and greedy in their old age. Sigrdrifa and I like DeviantArt for hosting our art. :)

Anyway, I posted the screenshot of the Tome of Destiny on the Discord, and Denmum pointed me here.

I went to Guatemala this month and the locations I stayed at had a nice mix of local art and Mayan influence. Took some photos of things I thought might be interesting to see in game! :)

A ceramics artist near Lake Atitlan makes all the mugs for the B&B we stayed at:

(I also have an awesome elephant mug I bought from the same artist, if anyone wants to see that. :D)

Some interesting tiles at the Lake Atitlan B&B:

The B&B had 10 yurts, each with its own animal theme. The carved doors show the animal, and there were statues near each of the animal as well. My daughter and I stayed in the Lion yurt, and a friend stayed in the Armadillo yurt.

Each yurt also had an outside seating area. This interesting bench was outside my yurt:

Some wall art from both Antigua and Lake Atitlan:

And lastly, a rug and a couple drapes:

They have yurts (Mongolian = ger) in Guatemala (gorgeous pics!)? :D

(Though looking at the interior, yep, that's a yurt -- with a bamboo or thatch roof! :D)

who still needs to make one, one of these days, in some place like the Oakmyst Forest prestige "land" ;)

Yup, it was at a bed & breakfast. All the yurts overlook Lake Atitlan. Very pretty, but also some freaky bugs there. :D The roof was bamboo. Here's the website if you want to see the other rooms: https://jennasriverbedandbreakfast.com I was traveling in a group of 11 (it was a study abroad trip) so we had the entire B&B booked. :)

I did take a photo of our roof:

...and the view from our balcony (each yurt was on a different tier/level, we were just over halfway down). If it hadn't been for a storm rolling in, a volcano would've been visible across the lake. So many awesome plants as well. :D

Oooh...that's actually encouraging for my roof... :D

who, despite being a Wildlife Biologist, would not even visit the tropics (southern Florida was close enough -- briefly), let alone work there (freaky bugs, diseases, parasites, heat with humidity; thou art braver than I ;->)...but we do need more tropical rain forests! :D

The tents that the merchants from City Fest use could add it to the general section of City Fest stuff

That would be cool, yeah! :)

I think it's been said in all sorts of other posts, or at least something similar, but I'd love a thing, a Token we could buy off the Marketplace even, that would turn House Pets or even FAMILIARS into Plushies...as long as the Familiars hadn't been fed to other familiars (eee!) or Established/turned in to the Familiar sheet/etc. yet (kind of like the Wardrobe for your Appearance gear; it does seem to be that scarily permanent). :)

I'd like the House Pet->Plushie thing to be reversible/toggle-able, but the Familiar->Plushie thing could be permanent. ;->

Sadly, each and every item with a conversion ability requires creation of extra files/scripts. One ... by ... one ... by ... one.

It isn't just some magical "make it so" that would make this an easy win for a token/marketplace option, etc. It would require that a designer sit down, manually search out every single house pet and/or familiar in the game, create a plushie version for it, then script all the conversion scripting for each one. There really just aren't enough hours in the day to go back through almost 20 years of housepets, or x number of years of familiars and do this. :(

Drat. I wasn't even the one who'd come up with that Token (or Wand or Potion or whatever) idea... :-/

Just throwing this out here...but...since the game was upgraded from 32 bit to 64 bit...could we...maybe get an upgrade on...furniture and building block limits in the houses? Before expanders (I don't think expanders work on building block count based on the description that I read). 900 building blocks doesn't seem like much when so much counts as a building block like roofs (which I was surprised by tbh) and some fences do but other's don't.
  17. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

First off, it'd be nice to have consistency with types of things counting/not counting as building blocks, absolutely yeah! :) But that might take a lot of eyeball time on each item, as Mum points out. :-/

Second, yeah, the Expanders do count for building blocks; at least, that's always been my experience. Before adding one or more, my count might initially look like 900/900 (House Items/Building Blocks) in a prestige house (sadly, I don't think the Expanders work on guild halls?), but after the 100 slotter, it'll go up to 1000/1000, then 1200/1200 after an additional 200 slotter.

So, yeah, it does both; what used to be an issue with my computer (Win98) and 'Net access (dial-up...oy) was that if there were "too many" items in a house or guild hall, especially (I thought; apparently not) right by the door, I wouldn't be able to get in at all. Fortunately, with a Win7 and, at first, DSL and now cable, that's not really an issue for me...though it could explain some of the longer zoning issues. X-P

Come to think of it, it wouldn't; I've had long zoning times getting into 2-room houses that had maybe five items or less in them. :-/

Oh I agree, some consistency would be nice if possible.

And thanks for the info on the expanders, I was afraid to try it myself because I don't really need the increase in furniture items (at least not yet) but building block increase would be nice.

Even when I do Holiday Swaps, I usually don't need all the slots folks get for me (if they do). Though there've been a couple of Swap houses where I was busily, industriously, placing stuff right and left, on a roll, when: BOOM! Get the official message along the lines of:
"Hey, stupid! Pay attention! You have no room left!!"
    "D'OH!" /facepalm

    Uwk
who's had some magnificent houses done for my Hordelings by Tenchigirl15 in swaps, and no matter how many Expanders I use, no matter how big the house was to start, she invariably takes it right into the red zone! ;)

I think some super cute wreaths for the other holidays and events would be super neat.

Some nice fall ones for NotD in particular I would love. But also some spring-type ones, (maybe ones with some eggs for B'eastr!) some romance-y ones for Erollisi Day, some shamrocky ones, some cute tinkery ones....you see my point.

But mostly I'd like the autumn / fall ones and maybe a couple spooky type ones! :D
