I like all the listed ideas, but I have to say, this is my favorite (well, this and the barn owl; too cute!)...not even just messages for visitors, but maybe make it like something visitors could leave messages for you in, like House feedback or whatever (and that you could edit/clear if it gets nasty)! It's cool that we have Mail-from-anywhere capability now, but ordinary mailboxes can fill up, and ordinary blank books/personalizable cards can't be written in, except by the owner...but something like this would be great! :)

How about a spooky flame andiron? With options like ghosts rising from it, or dark flames (maybe red or purple) that cast shadows (we've been asking for something that creates shadows like the OoLS mobs for ages now).

My NotD desire? Probably way too late for this year, but can we please GET RID OF THE STUPID REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HEDGE MAZE?? Back in the day, you used to have to do the Haunted House in either Qeynos or Freeport and the Haunted Mansion in Loping Plains (can't recall if in THAT ORDER) before doing the Hedge Maze in Nektulos, otherwise you weren't "doing it right," wouldn't get the Gleaming Chest, wouldn't get the Lost Necklace from the Gleaming Chest so you could get the decorating items from Loping Plains (see? It relates! :D), etc., etc., etc. All I can say is, thank the gawds for Calthine and Zam, Wiki EQ2, and all the other 3rd party sites out there, because NO ONE would be able to figure that out. It's not intuitive, it restricts our path choices for doing the quests rather severely, it doesn't make any sense (why not be able to get the Chest whenever you do the bloody Maze? It's right there!), and it sounds like some dev's idea of how it "should be done" rather than letting us play OUR way. Thank goodness they took out the Haunted House requirement; my baby alts are now waiting for the mega-path restrictions to finally go...mainly because they get eaten if they try the road from Greater Faydark to Loping Plains. As far as I know, there's no quest whatsoever for the skellies and other mobs on that road; the only reason they apparently exist is to aggravate/kill lowbies trying to do the quests "properly." X-P

Wow, no posts here since 2014! Well I'm going to post my wish list for NotD. I would love to have these items in the game, whether they're craftable, at the merchant, or marketplace:

    - Twisted/spooky looking trees... not necessarily bare, dark leaves would be nice. Darker pine trees too!!
    - Darker roofs and roof tiles (Dark brown, grey, dark grey, grungy greens).
    - Darker wood tiles (Dark brown, grey, dark grey, grungy greens).
    - More sound boxes like the screeching noise box: Owls hooting, zombies moaning, crows cawing, wind howling, wolves howling, a loud bang (object dropping, door slamming.
    - Spooky music boxes.
    - Windows with broken glass.
    - More curtains like the matoppie curtains, but stained and torn, maybe a little bit moth eaten.
    - A group of fluttering moths as a plushie.
    - Glowing eyes (red, green, orange, yellow, purple).
    - Smoke for chimneys.
    - Tattered leather books.
    - Possessed items ( floating chairs, tables, books, etc.)
    - A shadow light ( instead of giving off light, it gives off darkness.)
    - A broken mirror.

:)I'm sure I have more on my wish list, just can't remember at the moment! I'm sure I'll be back to add more.

Here are the things I wanted way back in 2013...maybe some can make it into game this year...

    * Shutters and/or doors that flap in the wind and creak
    * Windows from Fright Manor house
    * Hedge seeds that have the hand reaching out, ghosts coming out, etc. that you see inside the Hedge Hallow maze.
    * Mailbox that has seen better days but you can use it like a book so you can put messages for visitors (have red flag sticking up with mail sticking out part way.
    * Drippy faucet
    * Stack of books with dust and cobwebs all over them
    * Old rocking chair that actually rocks and creaks
    * Boarded up window that is cracked
    * Cracked mirror
    * Beetles pile that scamper around like in the Haunted House in Freeport/Qeynos
    * Bats that fly away when you get close like in some of the zones (mistmoore castle)
    * a coffin that when you click on it some sort of mummy or zombie or vampire starts to move as the lid opens up slightly
    * Smaller set of cobwebs so we can put them on book shelves, chandeliers, under cabinets, etc.
    * Spider plushie that has animation of it dropping down on a web and wiggles once dropped to a certain point (sort of like when the tinkered autowagon moves a few feet but then returns to its placement spot).
    * Barn owl plushie that turns head and opens one eye to look at you
    * a grave with headstone and a zombie crawls part way out of ground (slowly coming out and slowly going back down into ground)
    * pile of leaves that are blowing around in circle
    * the tree stump at start of Hedge Hollow maze with the glowing red eyes

And I agree with Cylene's post. Nods nods nods

A gargoyle fountain or some such fountain with 'bloody' water pouring down instead of water. The Tapestry of the Steam Lord re-done without the white candle top section and instead, just on a simple thin bar, both in red to look like blood and in green to look like oozing slime (two separate tapestries, and it would be fantastic if we could also get the original with just the simple thin bar up top too). A small bubbling rocky pool in red, and again in green, preferably with a natural looking border and not walled in.

I am totally with Ocarinah in wanting the windows like those in Fright Manor.

A Jack-in-the-box ie@ a ghoul that pops out of a Jack-o'lantern with the pumpkin top on it's head, then pops back down to hide again and spook the next individual that passes by. When it's back down inside the pumpkin, the Jack-o'lantern's eyes glow red, and when the ghoul is popped up, the Jack-o'lantern's eyes are just black.

Shadow, I hope that is a hint of what we can expect to see coming our way, hehe. Btw, that's one eerie, creepy laugh you've got going on there. :D

Hmm; I hear Estred had issues with having "bloody punch" for a NotD item (complete with floating eyeballs, etc.) and he finally had to color it way more purple, like it was grape punch or something, since the Powers are apparently really squeamish, or just don't want irate parents screaming about how traumatized their kids got after playing this "gory" game (er, parents? Lighten up, it's, y'know, HALLOWE'EN?); it would probably take the game from Teen to Mature/Adult or something. :-/

Green, purple, any other color but something even remotely approaching liquid blood... /sigh

And you could always bury a red-glowing light near the clear water and make it look like blood, but it's just not the same...

*Sigh* I suppose we can do as Vasciagio did and use red misty tiles too, to turn the water 'bloody', lol. Ok so a slime version of the Tapestry of Steam Lord without the candle top section (just a simple plain bar), and the bubbling slime pool...those should be 'acceptable', I should think. :D
  10. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

For my money, my favorite idea of them all would be "hey, just change the Tapestry of the Steam Lord hanger to just a simple wooden bar." I guarantee it: every single decorator in this game (and the married ones, too! That's a joke...very small one ["Jokes that small shouldn't be allowed outdoors this time of night"]...) would love the devs/art dept./whoever was responsible forever and ever and ever. ;->

re-reading _The Halloween Tree_ and recalling that rotting zombie walrus-man illusion that one year (last year? dunno what they're really called in-game)...nearly enough to make a museum employee retch! :D

XD aye, that rotting walrus and the othmir were pretty grotesque! XD Welll done. ^_^

The hooluk and Aviak masks are kind of a 2 birds one stone thing. :p For one thing, it's be a cool item to add as a NOTD mask. For another, people have been asking for them as a playable race (Not a lot of people, but I've seen and joined in on the request before. ^_~) but the armor and animations required would be insane. A mask, however, would be much easier but give the general appearance if the player has purchased/won the feathery wings. ^_^

That and I could finally make my kerra into a griffon. ^_^ (I still keep hoping for a brown or barnowl inspired set of wings, or a "color your own" mount feature in Player Studio.

Doesn't offend me. :D I say go for it. I loved the flying broom in wow during the holiday there.

1 Bundles of standing corn stalks to place pumpkins around.

2 Black or orange bows like the ones in frostfell (need something to decorate my lamp posts....lol)

3 A pumpkin with a candle inside or at least a hollow pumpkin I can place a candle in. The ones in-game now with the green eyes are ok, but I want to see that candle flicker effect in my pumpkin;)

4 A swarm of bats that spawn from a creepy tree or something when you walk near it.

5 Green glowing fog tiles, like the fog in that old movie The Fog!

6 A black cat plushie that has a bushy tail, arched back and it needs to hiss at me when I go near it.

7 The flying broom mount is a must! I see others requesting it on here. My thought is if they can make a duck mount, a flying broom stick should be easy!

If any of these things are already in-game someone hit my over the head and point them out to me!:)

3 For sure! I'd like to recreate the Halloween Tree from the awesome book of the same name (read it! Now! It's at the library, or cheap on Amazon!), and it would be sooo much more effective with stuff like that. ;->

Has anyone tried to do that yet, like with the Fright Manor prestige house?

You know that shadow creature that creeps round the halls in that place you enter through the shadow portals after you kill the three shadowmen? (I forget the name of the place, darn senility setting in, and I'm too lazy to go look it up now, lol.) The ones that make the hall really dark when you get near them, then it brightens up again after you defeat these shadow creatures? I want some of those to put in my Fright Manor. It's way too bright in that house to really be spooky, lol. If we had these shadow creatures to add to the zone, it would help to make it darker in there. The more of them we add, the darker it would get. I honestly don't know why, when the place is supposed to be creepy and spooky, it was made so bright (or maybe I added some items that made it bright, I don't know. I did add a lot of burning objects.) :D

I definitely like the green glowing misty tile idea, too. Some amber and purple ones would be nice as well, though not necessarily for NotD specifically.

There is one in game, but only through the Maj'Dul pet arena merchant. It's called a Shifter.
    >link>Shifter
[IMG] It looks totally different when it's walking.[IMG]

Unfortunately, the score keeper has been broken for years, so those of us who didn't get the kills/wins necessary to unlock it during the 6 months or so that it was working can't get them till the bug is fixed. Feedback it, go add a vote to https://dgcissuetracker.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=11501 (Or specificaly https://dgcissuetracker.com/browse/EQII-85)
And if there is another Fanfair and you go to it, bring it up in the Q&A.

I asked devs if those items could be moved to another merchant, but I was told in reply that those are meant to be goals to be reached... small kink in that logic, what with the score keeper's little problem... Maybe when the TLE servers get DoF expansion, there will be hope?

I like the idea of a broom mount for wizards and warlocks and the traditional witch's hat.
