It would be nice to have doors that don't open that match the doors that do open, as Ethini pointed out, so yes, that would be an awesome addition.

We have asked for all city festivals to be available every month before, but it still hasn't happened. I would so love for them to do this, even if it means making a separate instance for each city festival, as they have done with Moonlight Enchantments. I don't know why they can't take a large house breakout area from each city and turn that into the instance for the city festival? They used the Snowy Dwelling as an instance for the Thalumbra/KA Frostfell quests...same concept. :D

And a lot of the bigger prestige houses came from instance zones in the first place. ;->

If the Powers need an idea for an expansion for the end of this year, even if it's just an "expansion" like...AoM, was it? That would be a cool thing to give us, though I think the raiders and power levelers who don't decorate would pout a lot. ;->

Ok, I'm on a roll with request. I really wish that the Devs would consider having ALL the City Festivals up and running at the same time each month. So we could choose which ones we wanted to do or all of them at once.I hate having to wait months on end for the wares I want.I have so many places to decorate which requires different building blocks that come from the festivals. And also..I would like all the tiles we can purchase in the Grottos to become building blocks. And have CLEAR building blocks.
Am I alone on this and asking too much from the Devs? :)
  4. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

You're definitely not alone in wanting them to do all the City Festivals at once; a lot of us have been clamoring for that for years! I completely agree, but a) they'd probably argue that the poor merchants couldn't possibly dash about to all the cities at once (well then, they could hire local knowledge to be able to man the booths, I'd think), and b) their sales of the equivalent building blocks on the Marketplace outside of that month would suffer (a far more important consideration for them, I think...or is that too cynical? ;->).

I thought the tiles from the Grottoes (the Moonlight Enchantments, right?) were considered building blocks? I'd never actually checked... :-/

Ah! After checking with www.EQ2Furniture.com (a highly recommended website! It's invaluable), apparently they do fall under that category, even beyond Lera's organizing. :) Essentially, anything from the Grottoes with "Square" or "Tile" in the name seems to be considered a building block tile, but just about everything else is a house item. :-/

There are the various Water and Misty tiles, but I too would like to see clear Columns, Blocks, Dividers, etc. If they can do Water Tiles, they ought to be able to do that, I think. ;)

Yes I know the tiles in the grottos are building blocks. What I meant was I wish the would make dividers..columns..door/window frames out of all those tiles.I love the mossac tiles. And have the same with the water tiles... the same for clear. I would love to build a house out of the water/clear ones (if they would give them to us) So it would be like living in a aquarium....decorate it with all bright plants and whimsy custom build furniture. Also could really use them in a lot of my houses.;)

Oh, yeah! Absolutely; totally agree with all of that. :)

I do have a toon on Test that I wanted to make into an homage character from Hellboy, from the comics and the live-action movie(s) and the animated TV movies (those were awesome! my faves, I think): the original is called Abraham Sapien, or Abe for short, and if our Barbarians could be The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Abe would be like an Erudite...a very civilized, sophisticated amphibious type of humanoid. So I made my toon an Erudite Fury, since he'd have a water-breathing spell before too long, and bought the whole set of Mermaid Scale Armor (and the Cloak) for his appearance gear. This was waaay back when, back when the devs, GMs, etc. were still peeking in on Test every once in a while just because, just to see what we were coming up with, and within 2-3 weeks of my getting his last name at level 20, they made one of the Erudite racial traits the ability to breathe water! :D

I can't claim that my toon had anything to do with it, but I'd like to think that between Mike Mignola (who'd come up with Hellboy in the first place) and myself, we've made a mark in EQ2 forever. :D

At any rate, yes, his 4-room New Halas house is mostly aquaria, one for the main room when you first come in, and one for his bedroom, just off to the side. I've made it just using solid and Wispy Vampiric Mirrors for the water illusion, but now that we have other options, I've been debating about "re-skinning" the "tanks"; it's not enough just to skin the floors with sand, different rock tile, etc. and fill in the rest with water critters and features (corals, etc.), I think. :-/

Being able to use more than "just" tiles and squares for it would go a long way to making the illusion more believable. ;)

who, yes, also has Hellboy and Elizabeth Sherman homage toons as well...but that was then; now my homage toons are mostly based on Doctor Who ;->

On my Abe's place on Test: I went and purchased a half-dozen of the new items (the corals, the octopus, the kelps) and installed them in his aquaria, and they look cool! :D

In case folks are wondering, it's called Tanks for the Memories (yes, you can wince now), and while it isn't published any more, it's easy enough to find if you have or make a quick toon on Test (free for the first 7! Join us...it IS your destiny...) and head for New Halas' 4-room Glacial Villa houses. Look for Abrahm as the owner. :)

I would like the items that are actually within the grottos to be for sale, such as these from the DLW grotto and Gfay grottos

Well I was going to post pictures here but couldn't figure out how, so I'll just describe a few things.

the pink flowers, huge green roots, and sweetvine roots from the DLW grotto
the thin brown mushroom caps from gfay grotto
the long wooden ramps from gfay grotto
the large green and whitish roots/vines with leaves on them they are huge, from gfay grotto
flat large greenish rocks that act as a pathway in the gfay grotto

LOL! When in doubt, do a Search in this forum on things like "screenshot posting"; it's come up a lot. ;->

    But for a quick(-ish) run-through:

    1. Find a third-party picture hosting web site. As they say in the Northeast (apparently), "Ya can't get there from here." Not directly; no uploading from the game itself or from your own graphic processing program on your computer (like Paint or Photoshop). I use www.DeviantArt.com for mine; it's free. :)

    2. Take a screenshot of the game scene you're interested in, like the DLW grotto. Do what you have to do to edit it, if necessary (I use Microsoft Paint, even these days, 'cause I'm cheap ;->).

    3. Publish it in your picture hosting site.

    4. If it's DeviantArt (other web sites are easier, apparently), what I do is then right-click on the published screenshot and select View Image, which gives me a whole new page with nothing but the image itself and a black background, but at least there's the URL to the image itself at the top of the page, the "address" in the web site's storage where it's located. This page's URL, for example, is:

    https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq...moonlight-enchantments.78/page-7#post-6511179

(but don't click on it, it'll just be redundant and send you right back here ;->). The URL for your image is the one you want to highlight and Copy.

    5. Come back here to a post where you'd like to feature the image and look for the various icons for formatting your post. One of them will be a tiny li'l "landscape painting" of a tree on some ground with a sky in the back, to the left of an icon of a film strip. Click on the tree icon.

    6. You'll get the Insert Image window/box/thing come up, with a blank line for the Copied URL. Paste it into there and click on the Insert button.

    7. Voila! After that, it's just like inserting an image into a Word document; you can work around it however you wish. :)

The flowers from dlw have the same top as the lava blossoms you can get from the sootfoot faction in lava storm, they just have a body or bottom to them. And totaly agree with you , i was thinking the same with the tall root/vine in greater faydark moonlight, love the look of those.

They've been giving us a lot of the 'shrooms from various areas and requests; I imagine those in the GFay one shouldn't be too far behind. :)

And yep, the picture inserts worked great, Mirt! :) Sorry if you're an advanced computer user and my explanation seemed a bit simplistic, but they always taught us in Technical Writing, "never presume." Plus, I'm sure you're not the only one to be confused about it; I was, for the longest time, and it's not the most intuitive process in the known universe. I think I'd read about how to do it in the forums awhile ago myself (goodness knows how the first folks found out how to do it :-/), and it saved what was left of my sanity. ;->

Well I wouldn't mind water tiles that have NO collision, it would help in making hot-springs and homemade tubs.

...maybe bathing suits as well (Or change the GRUNDERWEAR to something that can fake being one and give us a REASON to use the "Imperceptible Beauty" items.), but that would be another thread.

Unfortunately, I think (though I don't know for sure) that water "effect" things, like the Tapestry of the Steam Lord (a personal fave! :D), does need some kind of handle, or frame, or something. And as much as I love the ol' TotSL, they could improve it immensely by not having the stupid "HI, I'M A BIG, THICK, LUDICROUS FLAME-BEARING TOP THING!!!!!!!" on the top of it and just leave us the less bulky wooden dowels farther down. Far less to have to hide. ;->

who loves any water feature (Pool, Fountain, etc.) that you can at least get into below the "water" surface, if it's big enough :)

P.S. I've had buddies who detested the look of their default armor pieces here and there that loved it when the Imperceptibles came out, and depending on what some of my toons are an homage to, I've found them handy, too. Just ask my "Hawkeye from the Avengers movies" Ranger; it's not always easy to find Shoulders that were always imperceptible. ;-> --U.

More items are always great to have!

But I see from your pictures that you're running WIndows 10. You really should upgrade to Windows 7.

Reading through this an idea came to mind, probably already out there, probably already used by people but I haven't seen it.

Could one not simply use the clearest tiles you can get and make square columns out of them? For Uwk the shiny water tiles or something similar and build walls and columns from those?

I love all the creativity I see here and only wish I was skilled enough to do these things as well. I am still learning.

Ooohhhh and by the way, I was in Kelethin last night on AB and saw the infamous Frostfell Elf!!!!
