You do if you account was grandfathered.

    Actually... you don't.

If your account is grandfathered, then congrats; you get your already created and played TOONS unlocked without having to pay for races or classes.

edit -- the official quote, to boot :
*Every* character that was created before 12/06/2011 at 12:01 am will be grandfathered in without race or class restriction. This means that regardless of your membership level, you will be able to play any character created before 12/6 without paying for race- or class-pack unlocks.
For any player that previously subscribed to EQII Live servers, or as a Gold or Platinum member on EQ2X, we will also refund all the class/race pack purchases made after 12/06/2011 at 12:01 am and before the time of this posting (12/08/2011, 4:30pm) so that no one loses any SC due to this change.
Of course, this doesn’t affect new characters created from now onward. If you are playing at Silver or Free membership levels and want to create a *new* character, you’ll still be subject to the regular membership class and race restrictions.
We think this should make a lot of folks happy and we’ll get this done as soon as humanly possible, either today, or first thing tomorrow.
    See you in-game! Enjoy!

Yep, Colby is right about how Grandfathering works. It only applies to characters created prior to 12/06/2011 which since the Winback program was done in December of 2012 no new character will be grandfathered and thus when the Winback expired you like all Bronze/Silver members lose access to all Gold content. It is still there, just not accessible.

Lol-welcome to the Age of Entitlement, where everyone who complains loudly enough should get whatever they want, without having to pay or work for it, simply by virtue of wanting it:)

I know you asked Mae, but...I think this sounds perfectly reasonable for a free TRIAL. It doesn't 'rope you in' it gives you a sample of the things you can do and see within their product. If you got invested in the characters, race and/or class whatever you chose- to the point where you'd be upset if you couldn't continue to play it after the Trial, it seems to me that means it's something you like.

I'm also pretty certain they disclose at the start what is going to happen at the end of the trial, and what is expected to be able to play all race/class combinations you've chosen. The reason people would be b-hurt over that would be they blew past that explanation without reading it. Usually people who yell loudest about their 'rights' being infringed are the ones that didn't actually read what those rights were.

Their expectations for a free trial are perfectly reasonable, IMO, and yours aren't.

Sheesh, you've got two weeks invested in a character and you won't start a new one? How long do you plan to be playing this game? Reminds of WoW launch - when Blizzard was opening up new servers as fast as they could and recommending guilds on heavy servers (ie: long queues) to move to them, people whined and moaned because they invested three days already and weren't going to 'start all over again' on a server with no queues.
