Hoping to get some suggestions. I'm a returning player of about a month now, and loving it. No problems until this week. I played on Monday (UK btw) but not the last couple of days. Tried to log in tonight for about an hour, and realise there was an update, but keep getting this message: --------------------------- Fatal Error --------------------------- EverQuest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown. <verify> G:\live\eq2\framework\render\VeShader.cpp (9920): m_shaderParams.m_pPixelShader 019acbd2 019ac03a --------------------------- OK --------------------------- I'm hoping someone can offer me a simple solution. I have tried: restarting computer revalidating game files Checked my graphics card drivers are up to date... they are. I have not changed anything recently in hardware and only downloaded one software programme for writing and project management. My thanks in advance for helping me. I would like to play over the weekend If you need my dxdiag info I have it saved, but haven't done it for so long I cant remember how to post it properly!
I usually just say SCREW YOU COMPUTER and wait a bit. Then restart my computer. I only get that notification half the time when 2boxxing on one computer.
You can try to delete cache files and revalidate through the patcher. See article: https://help.daybreakgames.com/hc/e...To do so, select the, have listed and re-patch. If that fails, you want want to contact support or do a full reinstall.
Also, make sure firewall and anti-virus settings (exemptions, allowed access) have not changed for EQ2.
Happens to me. just try again. try clearing up storage if your storage is full or restart and update.
Thanks all. I was hoping to have it sorted by tonight. The only thing I might do tonight is do a full reinstall.... And if that doesn't work I'll contact support! I appreciate all your help. No EQ2 for me tonight *update* I tried logging in with another char in case the guild hall is bugged. With my main I didnt quite get to land in the guild hall on log in, but an alt landed in a premium house then I got the error. Unfortunately all my alts are in premium housing or guild house. Tried a couple... same thing so must be on my end. here goes reinstall
It didn't work. Full install and the same thing happens. Looks like a support ticket Thanks for all your support.
I'm a bit disapointed that support doesnt work evenings and weekends since that's when most of us play. 'You have submitted a ticket outside of our regular hours. We do not currently offer evening or weekend support for this service.'
Hi Nazy, I don't think so. I have just finished trying the suggestions they sent me this morning - Thank you very much for making the files we wanted. The hardware looks good. However, you may wish to re-install the video driver with the latest stable version available. If the issue continues, I would like you to please ensure that the programs listed below are installed/updated on your system. Once updated, I would suggest rebooting your system to ensure all actions are completed. .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (Standard Installer): www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22 DirectX9.0c (Web Installer): www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 Windows Update (IMPORTANT: may need to run several times to pick-up all recommended/optional programs for the best compatibility, stability, and performance) If the game is still experiencing an issue after updating the software above, you may need to update Microsoft C++. Please select the version appropriate for your version of Windows (32 or 64 bit). C++ Redist (64-bit 2010): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632 C++ Redist (32-bit 2010): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 Regards, I ran through all of that, having to install direct x 9 and reinstall my graphics driver. I had hoped it was direct x but unfortunately I am getting the same error. I am at a loss. Hopefully they have more suggestions for me tomorrow.
Yeah, still no resolutions. Problem still persists. I'll keep posting their suggestions so that hopefully someone else might get help with same/similar issues. This is what they said this morning, and I have just tried these without any improvement: Thank you very much for the update and I'm sorry to hear the issue persists. Let's check the system a bit more. Please follow the steps below: Go to the Start Menu and type "cmd" . The program "Command Prompt" should appear on the menu. Right click this program and select "Run as Administrator..." At the command prompt, type in "sfc /scannow" and press enter. This process will scan your system files for corruption and fix the files if necessary. If the SFC can not repair the files, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance. This did in fact show that repairs were needed and carried them out. If the issue continues, please try the following to check your hard disk for errors: Go to your start menu and type "cmd" in the search box. Right click on the Command Prompt program that appears and select "Run as Administrator" In the command prompt that appears, please type "chkdsk C: /f" and wait for the scan to complete. This had to be done on restart. I left it to it but didnt see the end result so don't know if there were repairs needed. After the scan has completed, please try running the game again and let me know if it works. Thank you for your continued patience.
ok, so update again and still no further forward. Daybreak reply to me re above: Thank you for trying that out and getting back to me. I'm sorry to hear the issue persists. Let's try to find the file that is listed in the error message and delete it. Once deleted, have the LaunchPad run the validate game assets process and it should replace the file. I hope this helps! My reply back: Thanks. I am not sure how to find this file now? Daybreak: Good question. I would simply run a search in the EverQuest folder for the keywords and see if it finds anything. I hope this helps! Me: Search for what? I didn't get the name of a file. UPDATE I actually realised she ment the file in the error message. So I searched for it and deleted it. Launched the game and no apparent download to replace the file but still threw up the error message.
try the following steps: 1. clean your computer from viruses. for this use: https://rescuedisk.s.kaspersky-labs.com/updatable/2018/krd.iso (https://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/krd18) ["Kaspersky Rescue Disk 2018 is a free bootable disk for detecting and eliminating threats that interfere with the work of the operating system"] if it didn't help - 2. use microsoft .net framework repair tool: https://aka.ms/DotnetRepairTool (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2698555/microsoft-net-framework-repair-tool-is-available) if it didn't help - 3.a. use the .net framework cleanup tool: http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip or https://msdnshared.blob.core.windows.net/media/2018/05/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/archive/blogs/astebner/net-framework-cleanup-tool-users-guide) 3.b. install .net framework 3.5 with sp1: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25150 if it didn't help - [4. finale] "use installation media (a usb flash drive or dvd) to install a new copy of Windows, perform a clean installation, or reinstall windows 10": https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-10-create-installation-media before doing this, be sure to do a low-level formatting of the system disk (or install a new disk in your computer)
Thanks Ra'Gruzgob. I will try a bit later after work and feed back. Hopefully I can avoid a reinstall of windows 10
ok so, tried all of the above and couldn't get the Kaspersky tool to run at all. Tried different settings in Bios etc and in making the usb bootable file. When I did get it to actually boot it said it didn't recognise the file system. I used the .net framework reapir tool and it did make changes and asked me to reinstall .net but it would start to launch then nothing. C++ always tells me I have a newer version on my computer and won't install. Daybreay Tech asked me to repeat trying to install the above from her email the other day. Shame to say but I think I will need to reinstall windows 10. How can it get so broken so quickly lol.. I wont do that until probably Saturday because I will need to make a usb bootable for that, the all the other things that go with it .... been there and done it loads of times albeit years ago now. Oh well..... many thanks for all your input, much appreciated Netflix beckons lol
ok, so reinstalled windows 10 and downloaded EQ2 .... only streaming client at the moment, but will install full client overnight. This is the error I get after slecting char --------------------------- Fatal Error --------------------------- EverQuest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown. <verify> G:\live\eq2\game\Client\src\GameScene.cpp (5634): Failed to create zone. Suggestion: Please do a full scan from the patcher. 00bed552 00cbbb75 --------------------------- OK ---------------------------
