Fixed Internally Unable to download SocketError

This error is back... I see it was happening in 2018 as well. This started when trying to switch back to US English Full, from Beta:
"Unable to download SocketError:Host Not Found (11001 - 205.185.208.88 - http://eq2.patch.daybreakgames.com/...zs/7f/16e/86d9106c8f1abffb79682727877505f6759"

Should I re-install? What's the deal...

Follow this but apply to EQ2.



If this doesn't work, you can also delete your patcher cache and/or update your video card drivers.

I am getting this too. I'm even going to try a fresh install, but this is making quite the angry.

Same issue. Tried a fresh install after removing all EQ2 assets from Steam and still no luck.

Interesting. I get a slightly different error on mine - sha.zs/078 etc. Might be a general patcher issue if you're missing any files it's failing to download?

Nonsense. It's highly unlikely most people are using proxy servers so that box will not be checked. Even if it is and shouldn't be you hardly need to do that bizarre shuffle between screens - just uncheck it and save it and be done. And if doing that breaks all the rest of your internet connections then you may need the proxy server and should consult with your ISP about it.

The error quoted basically translates to 'can't find server/file'. Updating your video drivers is never in a million years going to fix that for you.

Clearing down cache files may have merit as the problem is quite likely due to an incorrect server address/filename somewhere in the configuration files that hasn't been updated correctly in the switch to beta and back.

My game dont work either

Same issue for me. Now I can't even go back to live server. Launch starts to download a bunch of warnings and then another error ... I have the same problem just swapped out my dead HDD for a SSD now can't download the game. I click install and it does nothing then throws this error.
