This started happening to me tonight, when I had cleared this zone successfully earlier in the day. Romero gives me the key to the kitchen door, but the door is not clickable after that, making it impossible to get into the kitchen.
There appears to be an issue with that zone specifically when you leave it and come back. I will put it on my list to check into. Thanks for letting us know!
