There are too many adventures who cherry-pick minables for the sole purpose of selling them. It messes with the node distribution in the zones and heavily skews the broker prices. Your choices are to do your own harvesting (or find somebody willing to do it for you) or pay the prices. If you're primarily a crafter, the later is not an option. It sucks, but those are your choices. On the flip side, if more people decided to vote with their wallet and not pay the insane prices, the broker and zone imbalance would fix itself as there wouldn't be the profit.
