Timed quest: leeches

After failing some of the timed quests over the course of an hour, I get their failure messages again when I enter Maldura (all at once).

Leech / Memory / Pox - I have all the same problems.

The Lost Miner is working properly. You have to use the third ability (pulse that reveals energy sources) to see the batteries, and then *target* them, then use the second ability to draw power from them. I've not found any batteries outside the mine, so my runs basically go like this:

    1. Grab the spider, run east, turn left, run up the hill towards the mine entrance.
    2. Once I've entered the mine (will be <10% power), pulse the energy detector.
    3. Make a beeline for the first revealed battery, charge from it, head further into the mine.
    4. Rinse/repeat on every battery along the way.
    5. Reach the destination nearly back at 20% power.

You kinda have to do it a few times (and likely fail) to get a sense of where the first battery is, and the path to take. But after that, it's second nature.

I get all the failure messages the next time I zone, even for the quests I completed successfully. So I'll do a run through the 5 I know I can do quickly, succeed on all 5, call back to the guild hall - and get 5 failure messages. A bug clearly, but fortunately not one that impacts anything.

Today I was getting rock eater messages on my paladin Sigrdrifa (Maj'Dul), who has never done any of the timed quests, which seems REALLY odd.

I had just started the Fungus Farm quests when...

There are batteries along the way? I actually succeeded in just a straight line run with no abilities used. I walked out the best path on foot a couple of times first.

That's 'normal' as well. Clearly a bug of course, but nothing out of the ordinary. Every time someone in the zone spawns a rock eater while running Rubble Rampage, it broadcasts to the entire zone.

Then you've certainly found a better path than I! No way could I run my path without running over a few batteries on the way.

Hmm for Memory Bloom, one sprite popped and I killed it, and I was watching the others and two seemed to pop at the same time. If they pop more than one sprite at a time, how are we supposed to figure out the order they are to be killed in?

It's been well over a week since I've first done the pox raiding one, but I still can't pick it up again. I've checked all the huts in case the scroll moves too.

I got the Memory Bloom done finally, but for The Lost Miner, I find the first battery just fine, but can't seem to find the second battery. I keep using the skill that seeks power sources, but it keeps saying there are no power sources nearby. :/

    • Memory Bloom I can not get again, plant is not clickable.
    • Angry Rock message goes to everyone in the zone whenever someone is doing it.
    • When I zone into Maldura I get failure messages for all the timed quests I did recently, even if I succeeded.
    • Leech, same can never find more than 2.
    • Tinker thing, mark the batteries on your map. They are generally in the same area, you will come across 3 before the final update. Annoying though, if you don't take the shortest route and go to exactly where the battery is and only use the find power source CA once (because it drains power) you will pretty much fail.

Where are these batteries you folks are discussing for "The Lost Miner"? Locs? (/loc clipboard). You can get the quest completed with zero batteries, just by planning out the absolute most direct path before hand.
  12. Ynnek Well-Known Member

Don't quote me on any of these, my notetaking while trying to find all of them was... imprecise...

But you should find at least one battery if you go near the following and hit the third hotbar ability.

    445,85,394
    426,85,316
    383,85,342
    407,125,290
    326,127,229
    282,127,229
    177,136,238

then at least you'll see what we're talking about. Whether you use any of them if you have a path that works, is of course up to you.

This is pretty much where I'm at too, except I have not tried Pox Raiding since I completed it the first time.

Memory Bloom particularly is annoying, since if you pan back far enough in third-person you end up outside of rendering range for the wisps. Also, if you have any kind of lag, then multiple wisps can seem to spawn at once.
