I for one am not excited about this idea.
I see the point of having a single target dps pet and a multi target dps pet but I'm not sure why we need a melee and a caster option especially if we will be sharing stats.
A wizard pet and warlock pet would be a better option if we must have 2 dps pets but I'm sure we'd rather have all of those wasted AA slots put to a better use.

The scout pet is a dead horse and it seems sony just won't stop beating it. So many times have they promised a buff to it. Unless the xpac is going more towards single target encounters then it will just get a shiney buff that is nowhere near what the mage pet can do dps wise based on a AoE aspect. I for once say get rid of scout and add some more AAs around the mage and tank.

Yeah, with shared stats it seems like all our pets should be mage-types... And for the tank, are we supposed to be equiping mitigation/ward proc gear or something? I'm not sure shared stats is really a good idea, unless we only use the mage pet.
