Solo idea

People will hate me for this one, but I think it would be fun.

We can group together any 6 toons that we created on the server. The active toon that we are playing is selected by right clicking the name in the group and the layout automatically switches to the toon's setup. The other toons in the group automatically play like the merc. We can switch to play any of the toons in the group at any time.
    Feara and Aenvar like this.

I think the devs will hate you more than the players. I've played other games (not MMOs) that have similar mechanics. You control a single character with AI companions, but you can switch within that group at any time. Not sure how, or even if, it would work in EQ2.

Kinda defeats the purpose of a MMO but i get it. Idk about the switching between them but using our toons for mercs and let the AI play it would be kinda cool

It's actually a really good idea if pulled off well. Has to be user friendly and seamless, though.

Here's an example of it working on EQ1. This took around a week of development time to code on an emulator:

Neat idea. I'd definitely try it out.

I would really love this option now. It is getting very difficult to get a group together. There were 40 players online. Everyone doing their own thing, no one wants to group up to do my quest line and I can't solo it. I have tried several times to get one whole group together to do signature quests. Players say they want to do it, but then they are not online.

They might as well test what they want on it if the player desire and dev resources are there. People that fly through content on Varsoon will get bored intermittently between content releases, so maybe they'll try it out again in a couple of months and if it's improved, spend more time on it.

Server daily peaks with about 60 characters, most of the time in off hours it is less 30, I've seen less than 10 a few times on non-patch days, keeping in mind a significant portion of characters are boxed. The "re-acquisition" of the server was just more house items, yet there's not even one laboriously decorated house published here. /shrug

It is kind of fun to build houses, but then no one ever looks at it. If daybreak had a competition where players would win something and get recognition, then players would be build some crazy houses.

Currently there are dev picks if you review sticky post in L&L server, and there are prizes from fellow players that host competitions in Norrathian Homeshow forums. Current one like this.

I was just surprised with the "re-acquisition" as people wanted some zone cap stat fixes, or items to be able to be claimed on other servers similar to Kaladim Inheritance Vouchers. Despite the huge initial outcry of people making fun of 'useless house items' as the only items available for L&L tokens, the only change during the new campaign push for L&L was giving more of exactly what people vocally said they did not want - brilliant!

That is cool. I like the player created competitions too. It would be cool if Daybreak would give a popup in-game so people can host the competition and to show which houses are entered in the compeition so other players can easily find them for a tour and vote.
