[/p][p]As everybody talks so high on "Soga", I would like to give it a shot. Alas, it doesn't work! I cannot chose alternate models in the proper options menu. It says that there are no models installed. I got the tip that I should enable the complete download of all updates in the preferfence button in the logon window. [/p][p]Tried that, didn't do jack. Does one have to buy some certain expansion in order to be able to use Soga? Or did I do anything wrong? I've been told that one could manually download Soga from the EQ2 site, but I cannot find it. [/p][p]Any help is very much appreciated! Thanks![/p]
I don't really remember but I think there was a button on charactor select that downloaded them. Things may have changed since EoF. New players might not even be able to get them anymore since the SOGA team that supports those models technically no longer exists.
Yes you can set view from character select however in game you can go to options and select what classes you would like to view in SOGA. Example: I think gnomes look stupid in SOGA so I changed every class excepot gnomes.

I couldn't change anything.
[p]From the Launchpad, select the "Preferences" button, then check the "Additional Live Game Content" option on the window that pops up. Then click save. The Launchpad should then download the files needed for Soga models, and you should be able to select them from the in-game options menu the next time you enter the game.[/p]
[p]When I first started playing in December, I got a message that I needed one of the expansion packs in order to enable the SOGA models.[/p][p]Not sure if it was as legitimate message or not, but I did get all the options once I actually installed all the expansion packs.[/p]
[p]SOGA models are included in the base game. Are you sure that wasn't voice emotes that gave you the message?[/p][p] As for enabling them after you download, they should be listed as alternate models on a button to the left side of the in game options menu.[/p]
[p] Oh, that's prolly right![/p][p]I downloaded all the in game optional updates right after getting all the expansions installed, so prolly why my memory is fuzzy on it.[/p][p]You know how crazy long it takes to go from no install to full install to new folks? ugh. First install the game, then all the expansions, then wait a zillion hours for patches and then a half-zillion hours for the optional downloads.[/p][p]I took it in bits and pieces my first week of play. >.<[/p]
Well the game is aproching almost 20gig I think in harddrive space, so if you don't have the EoF DvDs to install from you are going to be looking at a very long download to install the full game. However, the "estimated time" is almost never accurate and almost always shows a time far greater then the accuall download time. My sugjestion if you don't have the EoF Disks is to start downloading the game befor you goto bed then by morning it should be done.
To the OP, I wouldn't bother wasting the harddisk space unless you like manga, comic book style character models, I don't know many who use them, but if you like that sort of thing, then great, you should be able to download it throught your launcher.. I am glad I have the option of turning them off personally.
