    Hey there, folks!

Whilst I'm not nessarcarily new to the game, it's been a LONG time since I played EQ2 for a decent amount of time - I still have toons pootering about on Queen's Colony, so it's been a while!

So far I've moved my (now) level 23 Iksar Bruiser from Freeport to Qeynos and made him a Monk as I intented to do many years ago and started doing some tradeskill stuff, but I'm now at an impass and was just after some advice as to where to go to level up and what are good choices for a Tradeskill specialisation etc.

Also, is it worth going to a starter area on any mountless characters I have to get the free one, or just carry on as is and buy one later on down the line? (A simple question in theory considering the 'free mount' part...)

    Cheers, Rooko (ign)

First I'll answer the mount question.
I personally would go do the quests.
    1) You get a free mount that is just as fast as any of the other mounts.
    2) You will get aa from doing the quests. (You can visit the Chronomage in your home city, just out from the docks in Qeynos Harbor and mentor down to an appropriate level to get xp from doing the low level quests).
    3) You can level up your transmuting skill or get drops to sell to other people who are leveling up their transmuting skill.

At level 23 you can head to Thundering Steppes or Nektulos Forest still, or you can head out to the somewhat newer & revamped Butcherblock Mountains.
Crafting for a monk. You can always do alchemist so you can make your own combat arts & potions. Or you can do tailor to make yourself armor, bags & brawler thrown weapons. Woodworker or Weaponsmith would make your ammo & weapons. Jewelry of course would handle jewelery slots & provi your food. The only classes you would really have little to no use for would be armorer and sage.
Personally I'd probably go with alchemist if I had to choose only one. What I'd really do (and have been doing everywhere I make characters) is make one of everything I might need hehe.

Thanks for the response - it is very helpful!

I got a message from someone I had previously helped last night asking me to do something with mentoring - now I know what it means. That seems like a really nice feature, I'll check it out. I also noticed all my characters had a Transmuting spell, I'll do some research on it now I know it has a use, just clicking on it a couple of times didn't really help me out!
