Red adorns in ROR

Man, this is probably like beating a dead horse but...

I have yet to see any red adornments outside of raid. I have not looted a SINGLE red adorn outside of raid. I have super high play time. Is the RNG gods really so stingy this xpack? Am I a one off and are most of you seeing decent drop rates?

I started a swash about 4 or 5 weeks ago and am having a really hard time catching up. I can't imagine what this would be like for a new player or returning player. But pretty frustrating when I feel like I am doing everything you should need to do, to at least make some headway here.

As an idea of play time: (All approximate, some nights a bit more-some nights a bit less.
Mon - Fri from about 4PM-11PM
Sat and Sun at least 8 hours but typically at least one ALL day and night on the weekends.
Running the Solo weekly and DD's, Heroics 1 and 2 Weekly's and DD's, raiding three times a week.

Are the percentages really that low on drop rates? Or am I the latest victim of the RNGezus' Rage?!?!

    Do graceless solos.

Graceless won't help, I don't think. It is RNG, and the drop chance is just ridiculously low.

I have been trying to run all the solos every day, and I do them regular. So far, I have gotten:
    • Renewal Rune: Aura of Agility
    • Renewal Immunity Rune: Adamant Defiance [Tier II] (twice!)
    • Renewal Immunity Rune: Blinding Gleam [Tier II]
It makes Heroics much harder than they ought to be when you can't get the immunity runes.

Interesting conclusion. Here I thought Graceless was supposed to give you a higher chance at bonus loot rolls. How did you conclude this if you don't run Graceless to compare? I'd agree that IF the runes are only available on the main loot roll, it wouldn't matter. And IF the Graceless only has a different main loot box with no difference in Rune drop rate and not an adjustment to the bonus rate. Have the devs stated this somewhere I missed? I'll admit I don't really follow the Discord closely, so I could easily miss something stated there.

Graceless is just doing a difficult version for the achievement and challenge. There's no increase in loot probability from doing them.

Going to EQ2U and looking at the crowdsourced drops by zone, we can see the red and blue rune drops that are known to drop in the solo zones. This isn't necessarily a complete look at any zone's loot table in regards to runes... in fact, I expect all the solos probably drop the same runes. Note also that the data shows runes dropping from most of the bosses, not just the end boss.

i run h1 and h2 all the time. havent needed a single immunity rune

The 2nd named in Terrene will fear you off the solid tiles. I have it happen all the time because my groups either don't have healers who can instantly cure before I walk off the small surface areas, cannot anticipate them coming, or can't kill the adds fast enough. The solo fear runes won't work.

They may be running with a Crusader who has the Fearless AA.
  10. Jrox Well-Known Member

I do... Doesn't seem to help as Sigrifa stated.

I mean I don't get it. If your going to tier everything anyways. Let us have some joy of getting the basics. Why does every xpack have to feel like its us against the devs. I hear so much of the back and forth in the discords I am in about "this sux", "why do they continue to this stuff", "why is this system needed to be this stingy"?

I really just don't get it. Here's the craziest part, we all see the potential and just keep paying for it. Are we supposed to revolt as a community to make any change. I fear at that point they would just sunset the game anyhow.
  11. Melkior Well-Known Member

I wasn't questioning that they drop there. I was questioning how you knew graceless didn't help. Does the plugin track for the western salute language and differentiate between runes dropped graceless and not?
  12. Beee Well-Known Member

Graceless solo has a much higher chance of droping runes than anything other
  13. Sigrdrifa EQ2 Wiki Author

How do you know this? Is this a personal anecdote, or do you have data to support it? Graceless gets you a bonus loot roll, but chances are good that Graceless kills use the basic instance loot table as well.

I only run graceless. Have not seen any runes. Just wanted to reiterate that point since there is some misconception it gives better loot...

Earlier you stated the opposite. Do you have data, or was it just an anecdote? I never really got an answer. I'd Love for it to be true that the drop rates are identical. That's why I asked the question.

Edited to add: I am not trying to be argumentative. I can see where it may look that way. I really am looking for information to indicate whether Gracelss is worth the extra time. I see conflicting answers from Jrox, Bee, and a few others.

they work in h1 and h2 but not in h3- I ran tier 2 immunity standard until doing h3s and wasn't feared in the expansion ever until I started h3s
  17. Cusashorn Well-Known Member

hmm my Bloodbound Rune: Blinding Gleam [Tier 1] fear rune doesn't work despite saying that it does in RoR. I'll run it again with the Hua Collector's Blinding Gleam rune next time to see if that works. Both say that they work in RoR, and the Bloodbound rune mentions "Disabled by Oppresive Sands of higher tiers than the source adornment" on it, which the Hua says nothing of the sort.
  18. Scrappyz Well-Known Member

Tier 1 only works in solos. You need the T2 that drops in solos for heroic 1 and 2s. Yay for tiered adornments...

The crit bonus works in RoR, the immunity does not.
  20. Tyrval Active Member

Yeah it's dumb and confusing- tishan box is tier 1 and that works in solos, tier 2 RoR rune drops in solos and works in h1 and h2. tier 3 drops in heroics (haha) and works in h3, so it is enormously more difficult to beat h3 fear bosses without a crusader or unless you are incredibly lucky. And bad news, more bosses have fear in h3.
