Heyo! I just recently hit 90 and im looking to get into a guild and raid. However a few of noobish questions plague me... First off what kind of melee wep should i be wackin' stuff with? Slow? Fast? 1h? 2h? Why? Second.. After converting most of my spells to melee attacks, upgrading these spells/abilities seems weird. How do i upgrade these melee swings? Do they scale? or should i buy spell books to upgrade those converted abilities? and lastly, ive only been able to find one city quest(writ) in paineel, that one being Kelethin. Are there more? or should i mentor down? thanks!!!!
If you want to raid then you shouldn't be giving the class a bad reputation by trying to melee during them IMO.
Once you've got your myth enervated, i believe the best option is a slow 2H weapon with a large spread. This is because with semi-decent gear and aa's you should be at the cap for criticals and the larger the spread of a weapon, the better average damage you do with it. If you want a more indepth explanation, check that other site which has decent posts on it. Theres a 2H hammer that you can buy off of the mark merchant, and come GU56 there'll be a more expensive but better one. As to the CAs we get from the warden line, they're incredibly simple, spend 5 aa's in them and leave to simmer for ever, you dont have to upgrade them at all beyond spending point in them and that was one of the best things about leveling up a warden in melee spec. They automatically scale to your level. About writs, I honestly dont know, only came back to the game recently myself and i've only found the two goodie ones (kelethin and qeynos) but they combined all the factions into that 1 quest so it's even easier now, and if it's status you are worried about, just do the qeynos one at the same time (unless thats not an option, i'm a qeynosian and it lets me do kelethin writs). Oh and take what static says with a grain of salt, a large grain to be sure there is absolutely no point in sitting there like a lemon overhealing when you could contribute. But thats just my opinion, and as you may see if you read older threads, that of many others. Welcome to the pack and good luck.

Depending on your AA spec not meleeing is also losing out on heals for the group too. My warden has gone down the strength line and there is an AA that procs a heal for the group along that line. Just dont get carried away trying to parse well dps and forgetting to heal

A good raiding warden will heal around 12-18 with SF gear and parse between 15-22 more or less about the same as a fury. Of course, YMWV. Go for 1H cause of your AGI spec T-shell. You will need as many masters as possible, but no less than experts in your spells. I suggest you check with wikia about SF timelines. If you are evil, there are 3 city writs (FP, N, G) you can take by the Necromancers. If you are a goodies, there are 2 city writs (Q & K). BTW, the NPCs are right next to each other. There are plenty of casual raiding guilds that can teach you the finer points of raiding. Good adventures to you.
I am finding myself parsing 15-22 as Celestina stated. (Main Tank Raid group consist of Berserker, Defiler, Templar , my Warden, Coercer and Dirge. ) If you want to DPS look for gear with WIS. With the new SF game mechanics , the more WIS you have the higher you will DPS. Ofc ability modifiers , double attack and increased cast time doesn't hurt This is the hammer I am currently using on trash mobs in raid. The delay gives me enough time to toss in a cure or heal. It drops from one of the named in the Lair of the Dragon Queen so pretty easy to get. and just FYI , when the expansion hits we will no longer need a buckler for Tortoise Shell
