Overseer Rewards

Is there any way we could get a better chance of a lvl 90+ rare mat from the Overseer quests and the guild harvesters? The High Hold and High Keep furniture is fabulous and it would be great if we could make it to decorate our homes. I managed to find one bubalinga lumber (I'm not sure where from), and I've found a couple other lvl 90+ rares, but they aren't used for furniture as far as I know.

And I also got a BoL merc bauble which I find confusing. Is there a way to get this merc or is it just a booby prize?

Lastly, would someone please stomp on the KD RNG as it seems stuck on rewarding the same overseers over and over, ad nauseam. I have accounts that might as well not have the overseer feature as they can't get enough agents to do much of anything especially since we can't get the higher-level mercs and familiars from the veteran rewards and they certainly don't seem to be available through adventuring.

Highhold furniture is on merchant in Great Divide Beck Quantem /way 1193, -533, 464
It will never be crafted on Kael servers since it's level 98-ish stuff and Kael server is capped at level 90 Velious era

The fact that overseers give level 90 harvest is probably a courtesy because again level 90 books exist there.

mercs that require you to travel to places in "future" expansions that don't exist on Kael are just a booby prize as you said.

I have the pieces. offered by the GD merchant. but there are also pieces that can be crafted at lvl 90, as I've already done that, and I'd like to do more. I just need the mats. I realize that it is possible to mix up furniture styles, but it would be nice to have a few pieces of matching furniture, in a room, so it doesn't look like I just barfed up a bunch of furniture.

Coincidence, courtesy, or marketing strategy. Consider this:

The KD marketplace has a [Harvestables] button.

"Deluxe Tradesman's Satchel", up to level 96>100 (1 bundle of 100) with three random specific level rare harvests. Cost: 599 DBC

"Small Tradesman's Satchel", up to level 96>100 (1 bundle of 20) with 1 random level specific rare harvest. Cost: 199 DBC

And then the TS NPC sells books 1-100. Players can buy the books. Players can buy satchels off the marketplace. But they cannot scribe the books because "they lack the knowledge".

Whomever decided what can be sold on the DK marketplace either isn't aware that the majority of books 90 - 100 cannot be scribed or there was an anticipation the Velius areas would be expanded.

If neither of the above, then the KD marketplace needs to be adjusted so players aren't wasting DBC on Trademan's Satchels they will never be able to use and stop buying books they can't scribe.

What I don't understand is why they cut us off from Cobalt Scar which is lvl 90 and offers lvl 90 harvestables. If I remember correctly, it is part of VoV. We can play in all the parts that don't have harvestables, but not the one area that has them. We have access to lvl 90+ mobs but not 90+ harvestables and our ponies can only go where we can go.

I assumed, when I read that our characters would be lvl 90, that we would have access to all lvl 90 items. I had no idea Cobalt Scar would be cut off from us which makes absolutely no sense to me. Don't they want us to spend time harvesting and isn't the lack of being able to harvest lvl 90 mats a good reason not to make permanent characters on KD for harvesters and decorators?

While Cobalt connects to DoV zone it is not part of Destiny of Velious expansion

    https://eq2.fandom.com/wiki/Expansions_and_Adventure_Packs_Overview

Along the way there was still the Age of Discovery non-expansion expansion, Chains of Ethernity (Obol and Eidolon Jungle) and in between few more mid-expansion game updates that gave us Waking Lands and Cobalt Scars. After that was also Tears of Veeshan (Vesspyr). Those zones have minimum (or recommended) level of entry being 90, 92 or 95. these are all level 90-ish zones, but not part of DOV.

The main sticking point is that KD is capped at DoV, which was capped at level 90. Levels 90+ did not exist then and were added in later years. Level 90 books largely don't exist or use previous tier harvests until new expansion that raises cap is released, with a proper tier of materials.

As to why we can buy all that stuff from marketplace that is the real bug/problem and that is what Darkpaw needs to resolve.
And by the way, if someone purchased an item that is not usable in game they can petition for a refund

Thank you for explaining this to me. I don't remember Cobalt Scar being separate from DoV but since I'm often playing old content I probably got to Thurgadin about the time Cobalt Scars was added so thought it was part of it. I also didn't know KD ended with DoV, rather than all lvl 90 content, as I never intended to play on KD so I didn't pay much attention to the original announcement about the server. It looks like I should have read the fine print.

I don't really understand DP's decision making, such as why they didn't include harvestables with DoV, and I sure wish they had come up with a better way of letting us get lvl 90 rares on KD. I really enjoy the server except for that. We may be lvl 90 crafters, but we are rather crippled ones.
