Overseer Bag: Option to disable/delete/not use

This is an extremely cluttered game, as it is. I do not use, and do not want to use, the Overseer Bag. Please, for the love of all that is holy, allow us to disable/delete/not use the Overseer Bag.

I'm not sure if the developers and/or decision-makers know, but most Overseer quest rewards are deleted or transmuted; at least, in my experience and from reading the forums and talking to people in-game.

If you give the player the option to use it or not, that would be wonderful. I really, really hate a cluttered desktop and screen. Can you add an option to hide or disable the bag, please? How much would I have to pay for that to be an option? I would happily give DBG money for this...

make it as small as possible and hide behind other bags? go to its bag options and uncheck "sort overseer items" so nothing goes in it

    /agree

I stopped leveling Overseer months ago because I don't want that damned bag cluttering up my UI. I also don't want to wind up in the position of having to hide it behind something else to just so I won't have to look at it. o_O

I continue to run event-specific missions though (and the daily heritage crate mission) because they don't appear to give any experience toward leveling any further, so there's that at least.

It was an interesting idea, but unfortunately, it's functionally useless.

I'm not sure what leveling it even does. I do the daily for the minimum 100k status and the couple of epic quests I have, but other than that I don't mess with it. It just fills up bags with constant junk potions and gear that is useless to a level 130.

It's just "a thing to do". I'm actually surprised that they haven't made it more useful, given you have to pay to use it now.

I still run overseer, not obsessively but I try to check done missions and send out a few new ones. The research, mount training, familiar training and merc training potions are valuable enough to offset the junk cluttering bags

We now have a whole bunch of junk in this game that needs an 'off' switch. The rot goes all the way back to Smokejumper who thought that ludicrous mount speed was so wonderful that everybody had to have it regardless of how inconvenient/detrimental to the game it might be. Still waiting for the reluctantly promised fix to that one. And I don't think anything we've had since that was deemed 'wonderful' has come with an 'off' option. So much for player choice. Personally I want the 'off' switch for the entire overseer nonsense. not just the bag.

Just a though here, don't do the overseer stuff if it annoys you so much. I do it for the useful mount etc. potions and the junk stays happily in my overseer bag where once a week I sell it off and/or delete it out. Takes like 2 minutes max.

I don't. I haven't touched it since I got what I wanted from it back on Kaladim. But it seems that if you've been stupid enough to poke your head into it on even a single toon the game will henceforth continue to spam you about it forevermore on EVERY character.

Yeah, I really hate getting spammed with overseer nonsense on any/all new toons I create. If you delete those stupid boost crates they give you (I won't use it), the very next time your toon zones a new popup appears with another one. So you wind up having to stash the crate in your bank & just leave it there (losing precious storage space) just to prevent being spammed with it. What a way to run a railroad. /eyeroll

Be thankful if you're only getting one. I get 2 of the stupid things every time I zone if I delete them!

The only spam I see about it is the 'Zimara quests are granted but cannot be used' that pops up on occasion. What crates just magically appear on you without you doing anything in the overseer quests? The only crates I get are when I complete one. Are we talking about different things?
  14. MikeBob2023 Active Member

It's the season 5 boost crate, and there are (as Tkia indicated above) actually two of them, sitting side by side in my toons' bank. (I just checked and they're still there.) When deleted, they reappear in claim windows the very next time I zone (two of them, back to back).

Yes. You don't have the problems because you're using the stupid thing. The people being constantly spammed are the ones trying to completely ignore it, which apparently isn't actuallty allowed.

I see now. I'm pretty good at disregarding things, so I guess I never noticed it when it first started coming up. Sorry if I cluttered the field here.

I agree. There's an icon to open the bag it if you want it that can be put in a hot bar. Allow us to disable it from opening. Then if we need it, we'll hit the icon. I have yet to need the thing. It's either that or allow it to be a useable bag (albeit invisible in our inventory) for other things. Perhaps a dimensional pocket for harvests or something? We had a dimensional pocket in EQ1 that was like a bottomless pit. I can't remember the details, I think it was mage summoned, but can't remember.

There's already an additional Harvesting Bag that doesn't take up your pack slots. It's rewarded for doing the PoP tradeskill sigline.

all those temporary potions and adornments killed the Overseer quest fun.

Are you talking about the harvest box given to us at level one? I just keep that in the bank. I remember in EQ1, weight was a factor, which is why, I believe, they came up with the dimensional pockets. We would become encumbered too fast from harvesting. Of course, our bags were never as large as the bags we have now. But the harvesting was just a suggestion, I don't want a dedicated harvest bag in my inventory as I need the room for important things. Since the Overseer bag is basically "invisible" until you open it, it would be a nice place to stash harvests, or collectibles, or stash your Mercs until you want to activate them. Or leave it empty. Doesn't really matter. The point being, it's always in my face and I don't like it since I can't use it. I tried manually placing my inventory bags in a specific order on screen & placed the overseer bag way off to my left. When I opened my bags again, all the bags remained where I put them. That was a pleasant surprise. So maybe that's the answer EQ came up with, to permanently place the bags on the screen where you want them. You have to do it for each individual character & every time you log into the character, but it's better than nothing!
