Randomly browsing, I sttumbled across this. http://www.gamespot.com/everquest-i...n-tool-6116708/ Installing it, I find that it doesn't seem to want to launch properly, I think it has to do with using windows 7 64-bit. Does anyone use this anymore, and if so, know of a way to get it to run properly on windows 7? Compatability modes don't work, I tried Win Xp SP3 and SP2, no launch. Anyone have an idea of how to get it to work?
If you can get it to run on the right OS then it would be an interesting thing to look at. Of course with all the changes to the game since 2005 there's very little chance you could import the character into the current game client. I could be wrong though!
I got it to load in an XP virtual box. It does work. I'd forgotten the old concept artwork that was in the game. It's the original creator on the deck of the ship, so no froglocks or SOGA. If there were a self-contained "trial of the isle" I'd probably be happy with that and not bother with today's EQ2.
