Maybe you don't understand that the whole point why they are doing this is because scouts are getting too much DPS from their poison procs. But nerfing procs in general hurts everyone that uses procs of any kind, and that includes Berserkers. I just hope that Moorgard is true to his word and they will pay attention to what goes on after this change goes into effect and keep an eye on us and correct any inadequacies in aggro generation that result from this change.

Erik, nothing else will be effected from this change but Frenzy.

    - Procs will only occur on the first successful attack of a single combat art, not each attack. For example, if a single combat art strikes 5 times, the proc will only have a chance to trigger once during that art rather than 5 times.

Frenzy is the only CA we have that falls under this catergory.

As of Live Update #20, combat arts will base their chance to trigger a proc on the casting time of the art itself. Weapon delay will no longer affect any combat art's chance to trigger a proc.

Keep in mind that if you play a melee class but don't rely on a slow weapon to generate extra procs, this fix should have little impact on your style of play.

This is a huge blow to Berserkers who use slow weapons to generate more procs, this is a big nerf to them, others who dont use slower weapons to generate more procs will notice a upgrade to the way they proc.

Here is another question, if there going to base the chances to proc of combat arts casting time now, how is CA's that are constantly up for long periods of time for example, Unbridled Fury which has a 0.5 casting time and is up for 12 hours going to work out exactally?

Using the old calculator for this generates some seriously scary numbers :
    • 0.5 / 3 * 10 = 1.6% chance to proc Furious Assault.
Now i doubt it will work like this unless they increase the cast timers...........:smileyindifferent: or they increase the chances to proc on the CA themselves for example, Unbridled Fury 10% and increase it too 20% which i seriously doubt will ever happen.

Personally, I think SoE got a little too happy with patching a patch to make another patch patch properly...

Weapon descriptions, CA's and Poisons always gave a set percentage regardless of the weapon speed. I think the change to "normalize" proc rates to 3 second rounds was an attempt to fix the lower observed rate and from there, it just got more complicated. One ranger in particular had this to say about the issue:

"Also the problem isent in our multi attacks - its in the percentage rangers are able to proc in the multi attack - were able to proc 75% of the time - where it should be 30% and 25%(CA, and poison) - and poisons were attacking group mobs where it should only be attacking one."

Furious Assault is a proc granted by the stance, not a combat art in itself. Furious Assault, or any attack proc for that matter, will not be triggered by buffing yourself (which Unbridled Fury is... a buff). The Furious Assault proc will have a 10% chance to proc from actual CA attacks (like a Kick, or Assault) by using the casting times for those respective abilities as the substitute for weapon speed on top of a chance from proccing from regular weapon attacks.

For instance, if you have Unbridled Fury up to which one of the benefits is 10% chance to proc Furious Assault which does 125-200 melee damage in an AoE. That means your ability Breach, which is an attack that does 100 - 325 in damage, fro all intents and purposes, now is calculated like a weapon...

Breach (the CA) with Unbridled Fury On, reads as:

    Casting Time: 0.5 seconds
Inflicts: 100 - 325 melee damage on target
Breach with Unbridled Fury on is calculated as a weapon which looks like this:

    Delay 0.5
    Your Damage: 100 - 325
Effects: Applies Furious Assault when Equipped
And instead of counting Frenzy (which is upgraded in the 50s) as three seperate attacks, it is calculated as one attack similar to this:

Frenzy with Unbridled Fury on calculated as a weapon:

    Delay: 0.5
Your Damage: 70 - 795 (range is from only 1 hit at min damage or up to 3 hits at max damage)

Effects: Applies Furious Assault when Equipped

That's how you have to look at it to calculate what they are referring to with the upcoming changes.

Again, with the Ranger example... A 0.5 second casting time multi-attack CA was proccing on each attack as if it were individual attacks from a 7 second delay weapon (their bow).
