Missing Quests thread

I'm beginning to think Chrol was playing a late April Fool's trick on us.

I'm up to hour 6 clearing in Permafrost. I'm missing nearly all of the tome quests in there and haven't seen a single one drop (or those quests named after specific mobs). Either these quests are as rare as ethereals or none of them are currently dropping.

Just spent three hours in Blackburrow clearing it continually. I switched to an alt midway to test a theory. On my main no quests would drop. On my alt, only the quests that my main had completed dropped. I saw at least two of each quest that I've already completed.

The quests in Blackburrow that currently do not drop are as follows:

Several of the quests in Permafrost are simply named after a mob. Originally these dropped as notes of paper and the quest was simply the same name as the mob you were to go after and kill.

Please look into adding these to the list of quests to be returned to the game. Thank you.

The Commonlands are missing the following drop quests:

an unfinished helm - Lion Mane Helm
A Crystalline Stone - A Spark in the Night
Just Doing My Duty, Ma'am
A Journal - A Pirate in Need, is a Friend Indeed
A Damaged Fist Wrap - The Bloody Fist Wrap
a sealed letter - Blown Cover!

Please add these to the missing quests list as well.

Which mobs dropped it? Each of these zones I've listed I spend a minimum of 3 hours in. I spent 8 hours in Permafrost without a single quest at all dropping. As in no quests. In Commonlands the only quests that I received in that entire 3 hours were Far Seas Trading Requisitions.

I've now moved on to Crypt of Betrayal and had 0 quests drop in 2 hours of farming. Not looking good in here either.

Heh timing! I was coming to forums to ask when the June 11th test notes changes would make it to live.

@Gaealiege I wish I'd seen this before I spent a couple of days of play time in Permafrost. I was after the dropped book quest items from there. So disappointing.

I wish I knew as well, Xianthia. =(

Despite Evguenal's unhelpfulness I found a minor rumor that the Tortured Maid in Zarvonn's Tower specifically drops the unfinished helm quest. I zoned in, killed her once, and bam the quest dropped. So the Lion Mane Helm is in fact still obtainable. The rest however are still very much in doubt.

both WiKia and lootdb have shortcuts to ZAM when it comes to particular item

The problem with those sources (particularly wikia) is that the data is often flatout wrong or missing. Specifically in regard to the old T5 drop quests, most of them simply state "random drop from any mob in the zone."

I've often found zam quite good for tracking old quests, particularly ones where the zone has been revamped at some point and now the quest starter is a low chance from only a few mobs.

Still waiting over here to get those Vermin Snye quests back in game... can't wait to hunt for these...

I went into Vermin Snye just now and got ALL of them under 30 minutes... I wanted to post from which creature each of them drop, but they drop so often that just doing a single run will get you all starters and all quests completed...

Thanks so much for getting these back in game... was missing 7 of them and now I have them...

Can't wait to get another zone fixed... bring them all back! Fun!!

Yadi - were any of the ones you got from these listed below? I have been in VS since update and have yet to get one drop.

I mentored down to level 10 and got 5 missing ones already - never used to have to mentor to get the small chest with quest drops, but looks like for the VS ones you do. I spent over 2 hours killing the zone and no drops. 10 minutes mentored and 5 drops.

I had similar experience with "new" quests in VS. Tried for 10 minutes to get a drop being level 40 - no luck. Mentor down to level 10/15 - got drops quite frequently, so I could finished all 10 quests in an hour or two.

The quests that were added back to Vermin Snye need to drop while grey. Months from now people won't know that these only drop while mentored and that information will enter the "Lost Lore" of EQ2 status.

Please change these to all drop while grey.
