masks are not required to get all weapons for the protection. Somy only require the coins. The biggest problem I see is the inconsistency in the amount needed. Example. Lvl 2 of one weapon in frostfang requires 20 masks, lvl 3 requires 100 and then lvl 4 requires 300 masks and large amounts of coins. This is the burn for me. Create a system that makes sense, not just massive numbers to keep on a grind for something that's really not needed. Lesser weapons with protection can be used for contested and you only need to maxxed or a single maxxed two hander for regular raids for resolve. It's just a poorly designed and thought out process like chrono dungeons.

I think you are missing the point here. The question is not about having to grind to be able to gear up by the of February. The issue here is that these masks are given out based on an RNG system whereby some people are getting more and some people close to none. The disparity is even greater when you factor in number of runs vs the masks you get. Some folks have been getting more masks with a lot less runs then those who have been running everything they can do to increase their chances of getting them.

Stretching out the content can easily be done in so many less egregious ways and they end up going with RNG. For instance, increase the number of masks required to get the avatar items and make fixed rate of drops through weeklies with an additional chance of getting the trade-in items for more. This way, at the very least, people who are grinding still get something for their work. You can take this all the way to mid of the expansion or even near the end of it.

So many missed opportunities like this in the game, alas, I digress.

Still hoping they add more ways of getting a fixed amount of currency. I have a feeling that they will keep to the Avatar kill drop fixed so by the time 18 of them are in, you will get a minimum of 36 masks (excluding member bonus). Great, if they had not made some people get more through RNG in the first instance and we would have accepted that all are in the same boat, its just a matter of grinding them out....That is clearly not how it is and will be at the end of it.
