    Good Morning ROAD TRIPPERS!!!!

It is finally here, the start of the Mini-Fall ROAD TRIP. Today we are going to check into the Canopy by Hilton in Dallas, Texas. We have all of their suites booked so we have extras in case anybody wishes to invite friends or family. Afterwards, we can have a free breakfast and then we will be heading to Six Flags Over Texas to experience Hallowfest 2020 sponsored by Snickers!!! We have full access flash passes and I made reservations for 60 which is way over the number we will have but I bought and paid for 60 and reserved 60 so it gives us room to add friends and family and makes sure there is no mix-ups. Flash passes will let you go to the front of any line and full access is any additional fees for any attractions have been pre-paid. Also everybody will be issued a Six Flags Pre-Paid Visa which will work at our destinations today, tomorrow, and Saturday, with $25K to spend as you please, so spend, spend, spend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our first stop at Six Flags Over Texas is the Mystic Acres Trick or Treat Trail. This trail is not just about delicious goodies! There are pumpkins, gourds, and wonderful photo opportunities with some of our most favorite Halloween characters! Just remember the secret words… Trick or Treat!

After this we can just go around the park as we wish until cocktail hour which will be 4 pm and dinner which will be 5 pm at Johnny Rockets in the Gotham Section of the Park.

Now for the good stuff!!!! This night time chills and thrills!!!!! We are beginning at the Hobgoblin Bridge. Beware of the Hobgoblins at the Texas Bridge! These small grotesque terrors of the night are mischievous and outright malicious. They are also thieves in search of gold jewelry. Quietly and ever-so quickly they attack from the shadows of the bridge to wreak havoc. Warning do not engage with them, for when they’re angered they not only take your treasures but will eat you as well!

In this zone for rides, there is the New Texas Giant Wooden Coaster, Six Flags Railroad, Chaparral Antique Cars, Boot Scootin', El Aserradero Flume Ride, El Diablo Coaster, Conquistador Swinging Ship, La Vibora Bobsled, La Fiesta de Las Tazas twisting teacups, Rodeo, and the Sidewinder. There is the Texas Giant Shop, Indian Village Trading Post, Casa de Six Flags Clothing, for souvenirs and gifts.

Our next zone is Looney Tunes zone. Some of the highlights are Silver Star Scarousel, Looney Tunes Adventure Camp, Wile E. Coyote's Grand Canyon Blaster Coaster, Sylvester & Tweety's State Fairis Wheel, Bugs Bunny Cloud Bouncer, Marvin the Martian Space Rockets, and the Taz Tornado Swings. There is the Looney Tunes Mall, the Looney Tunes Mall Candy, Titan, Heroes, Studio 6F Clothing, Coaster Candy and Justice League.

Our next area is Purgatory. This unearthly 1800’s portal is home to those stranded in the afterlife. These souls are hoping to find some form of redemption while they continue to struggle and fight against final damnation. Ghosts wander about in search
of the ultimate path to the next life. Although usually harmless, some are known to seek revenge amongst the living, blaming them for their suspended afterlife.

On our way to our next area we will stop by the Justice League Battle for Metropolis. This is an epic 4D interactive dark ride experience.

Our next area is Toxic Danger. A tragic accident has released toxic materials that may cause significant harm to any individuals who come into contact with it. While these materials could enter the body in different ways, the most common exposure is through inhalation. Exposure could cause simple skin irritation or even worse, you could become violent and
aggressive before being consumed by the toxins.

Before hitting our next zone, we will be stopping at Aquaman Splashdown, Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, Cloud Bouncer, and Judge Roy Scream.

Our next zone is Gotham City. The rides here are Texas SkyScreamer, The Riddler Revenge, Catwoman Whip, The Joker, Harley Quinn Spinsanity, Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast, Batwing, and Batman the Ride. There is the Funhouse Gifts for shopping.

Our next zone is Boomtown. The rides here are Mini Mine Train, Six Flags Railroad-Boomtown Depot, Runaway Mine Train, and The Gunslinger.

On the way to our final zone we will stop at Dive Bomber Alley, plummet 16 stories through the air at 60-80 mph for the
ultimate skydiving experience! Parachute not included.

Our final zone is the Tower Zone. The rides in this area are, Superman Tower of Power, Caddo Lake Barge, Roaring Rapids, Shockwave, and Six Flags Speedway Go Karts.

Our final area is in this zone as well, Terror Under the Tower. History tells of horrifying tales under the Tower. The stories
intensify the closer you get to Halloween. It’s been said that strange things like lightning and thunder, babbling beasts, and lost souls all converge under the Tower at night. Some who’ve survived walking under it are quite terrified. Although they cannot explain what they saw, they have all stated that it felt like someone walked through them.

    For Hallowfest:

Silver Star Carousel has become the Scarousel at Silver Star Carousel. It’s a nostalgic ride that you’ll never forget and one that will haunt you forever.

Runaway Mountain has become Midnight Mountain at Runaway Mountain. There are those who say they hear voices, and sometimes even
cries in the walls of Midnight Mountain.

Hughey's Doll Museum has been added at the Mine Train. If you stare too long you may not come out!

Carnevil has been added at the area around the New Texas Giant.

Phantom Photos can be taken and purchased in the Crazy Horse Saloon located between Looney Tunes Adventure Camp and Wile E. Coyote's Grand Canyon Blaster.

Remember, it is Hallowfest so there will be ghouls and goblins roaming freely along with zombies and other monsters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a park map that gives descriptions of the rides and shops I listed above.

    Spooky Day ROAD TRIPPERS!!!!!

Well we have had a last minute change of plans as the weather in Oklahoma City derailed our plans. So we are checked into the Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk, we have all of their suites booked so we have extras should anybody wish to invite friends or family:

    https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/t...nesslisting_satrs_en_homepage_desktop&code=TB

Today we are at Six Flags Fiesta in San Antonio, Texas. We are haunting their park, now lets see what they have in store for us!!!

We are beginning our haunt in Crackaxle Canyon, this is where the Daytime Hallowfest Activities occur. Strolling throughout Crackaxle Canyon we are treated to carved “steampunkin” decor pieces, featuring Jack-o-Lantern style festoon lights. These are some of the coolest pumpkin carvings I have ever seen!!!

We will be stopping at numerous themed Looney Tunes photo opportunities on our walk. Some are live characters, some are facades. Some are cute and some are spooky!!!

Also during our stroll through Crackaxle Canyon, we can trick or treat at a number of locations where we will receive packages of Snickers Brand treats!!!!!

There are also some shows we can catch if we wish:

Terror at Teatro - Sundance Theatre - Terror takes over Sundance Theatre during Hallowfest! Terror at Teatro features live performances of classic Halloween hits, including Pyromania, Thriller and Time Warp.

Wicked Mixx Vol. 1 - Sundance Theatre - Classic rock and contemporary mash-ups. Featuring a live band, Wicked Mixx Vol. 1 includes hits such as Rain on Me, We Will Rock You and Like a Prayer.

We can haunt the park as we like until Cocktail hour at 5 pm at the Thirsty Buffalo and Dinner at 6 pm at the Canyon Smokehouse. Both of these are just a bit north of the Sundance Theatre.

After dinner the real fun begins!!!! This is when the ghouls, ghosts, and zombies rise and walk freely!!! We will begin our evening of terror at Fear Acres in Crackaxle Canyon. There are rustic, gigantic haunted barns and other outbuildings. We must keep our eyes peeled for creepy encounters in this eerie setting.

    Happy Halloween ROAD TRIPPERS!!!!

Wow!!! It is already day 3 of our 5 day ROAD TRIP. We are checked into the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead:

    https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/georgia/grand-hyatt-atlanta-in-buckhead/atlgh

We have all our their suites booked so as usual, we have extras in case anybody wishes to invite family or friends. Luckily, a storm that might have derailed today's plans blew over and we have sunny skies and moderate temperatures. So lets get haunting!!!!

For our daylight haunting pleasure, we will begin with Scarecrow Square. This area is decorated with Jack-O-Lanterns and Scarecrows, tons of them, more Scarecrows than McQuibbles Farm!!! This area also begins the trick or treating which continues throughout the park!!!! All the treats we receive are pre-packed selections of treats provided by Snickers, so its like little sealed gift bags at every stop!!

Next, we will be visiting Pirate Pointe. This area is filled with Pirates telling stories of the sea. There is a ship and some of us may find ourselves walking the plank!!!

Then we will be heading to Witch Way. This area is populated by Witches, Warlocks, Sorcerers, and Sorceresses and other spell casting beings. They are telling stories and playing games with all that enter.

Off we go to the Pumpkin Patch. This area is a massive sea of orange, a giant Jack-O-Lantern field. Here there is pumpkin decorating and other arts and crafts.

Next we are off to Clown Town. *shudders* Clown Town is filled with happy, funny, laughing clowns. Clowns that will do tricks, stilt-walking, and make you any balloon animal you can dream of!!

Then we are off to the Trick or Treat Trail. This is 1/4 of a mile of trail with about 3 dozen stops to trick or treat at!!! Be prepared though in case you are asked for a trick!!

There are some daytime shows, here is a list, these I copied from fansite:

    CLOWN STAGE

Giggle & Thump - Hip Hip Hooray!! The clowns have come to play! Grab your popcorn, sit and stay, there’s unicycling, tumbling and more on the way!

Mime Time with Lil’ Cutie - Follow this adorable yet peculiar character into the world of imagination and let curiosity run away with you. Hilarious and fun, this show is playtime for your mind!

Dapper Scrappy the Circus Dog - The ulti-MUTT DOGgone Circus Dog! Watch Scrappy jump through hoops of fire, prove to the audience he can count, give kisses and speak adorable phrases and win the hearts of all. This show will be sure to make you howl with laughter!

    DARE DEVIL DIVE STAGE

The Amazing Juju Bean Circus Show - Come join us for this variety circus juggling extravaganza with giggles around every corner. The amazing Juju Bean will keep you on the edge of your seat with his absurd comedy circus show. You don’t want to miss this man of many voices!

Shakey Heights - Watch this dynamic duo risk their lives for your entertainment! Stand in awe as they defy gravity at dizzying heights!!

For the rest of the daylight hours, we can go through the rest of the park hitting the trick or treat stops and then have the Cabana Boys take our hauls back to our rooms for us so we dont have to carry them around all night.

Cocktail hour is at 4 pm and dinner is at 5 pm at JB's Sports Bar and Grille in the Peachtree Zone of the park.

After dinner, the real fun begins and we can really haunt their park!!!!!!!!!!!

We will start our haunting in the SCREAMPUNK ZONE. Here we will encounter Dismantled. Dismantled is the end of the world as we know it, ransacked by “The Wanderers” who roam the land preying on the fearful.

The rides in this zone are Pandemonium, Gold Town Racer Go-Karts, Sky Buckets, and Thunder River.

There is one gift shop, the Pandemonium Gift Shop.

There is a Guess Your Age or Weight Game.

And for snacks, drinks, or food, there is Totally Kickin' Chicken, Hometown Funnel Cakes, Screampunk ICEE, and Country Cousins.

Our next zone is the LICKSKILLET ZONE. We need to keep our eyes peeled here, for there are cannibals about. The Cannibals are having a Cookout with flesh-eating freaks and mutilated monsters lurking in the shadows. I certainly do not wish to be on their menu!!!

The rides in this zone are Skyscreamer, Blue Hawk, Great American Scream Machine, and Sky Coaster.

There is one retail therapy opportunity at the Six Flags Mercantile.

There are two game areas, the Lickskillet Ladder Climb and the Lickskillet Long Range Basketball.

And for snacks, drinks, or food, there is Lickskillet Ice Cream, Lickskillet Snacks (with ICEEs), Hickory Chip, Miner's Cookhouse, Primo's Pizzeria, and Sky Coaster Snacks.

Next we are off to the PIEDMONT ZONE. Here if you do not like killer clowns, you better keep your eyes open and your back to the wall as the Big Top Terror Circus has come to town!!!! There are dozens of maniacal clowns eager to give you the fright of your life.

The rides in this zone are the Monster Mansion and the Rabun Gap Railroad Station.

For your shopping pleasure, there is the Caricature Artists and Airbrush Shop, the Hydration Station, and Jelly Belly.

There is a game area, the Piedmont Scale.

And for snacks, drinks or food, there is Macho Nacho, Monstore Snacks, Primo's Pizzeria, and Six Below (ice cream).

Next we will traverse the PEACHTREE ZONE. This is a calm and peaceful zone if you ignore the wandering ghosts, ghouls, zombies, and other creatures of the night.

The rides in this zone are Acrophobia, Dahlonega Mine Train, Marthasville Railroad Station, and Sky Buckets.

For shopping, we have Antique Photos, Coca-Cola Freestyle Gift Shope and Refill Station, and the Glad Hatter.

For snacks, drinks, or food, there is Pick & Shovel, JB's Sports Bar and Grille, Peachtree Dippin' Dots, and Strutters Famous Chicken Wings & Brews.

Now we will pass through the DC SUPER FRIENDS ZONE. This is another relatively peaceful zone again if you ignore the wandering creatures of the night.

The rides in this zone are The Joker Funhouse Coaster, SUPERMAN Tower of Power, The BATCOPTERS, and WONDER WOMAN Flight School.

There is one games area, the DC Super Friends Arcade.

There is one gift shop, the Heroes Store.

Now we will just strut through the U.S.A. Zone. This is another calm zone with the exception of the wandering creatures of the night. *smacks a zombie on her way by*

The rides in this zone are Dare Devil Dive and Goliath.

There are two games areas, Goliath Games and 3-point challenge.

We can shop at Attitudes, Caricature Artists, and Goliath Gifts.

And for snacks, drinks, or food, we can visit Daddy O's, Dee Jay's Diner, USA Dippin' Dots, and USA ICEE.

Now we have arrived at the BUGS BUNNY BOOMTOWN ZONE. This is a calm zone as well since this is where most of the daylight activities occur, I am assuming they have some kind of totems or wards around the area to keep the number of restless creatures of the night at a minimum.

The rides in this zone are ACME Trucking Company, BUGS BUNNY High Sea Adventure, Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters, LOONEY TUNES Adventure Camp, SPEEDY GONZALEZ Speed Boats, TWEETY Tweehouse, and YOSEMITE SAM Wacky Wagons.

One gift shop, the $10 and Under Store.

One stop for snacks, drinks, or food, Boomtown Snacks.

We are now at GOTHAM CITY!! Ohhh noooooo!!! Everybody hide, its the Seeds of Samhain. Souls of the dead, beckoned and transformed into a festering pumpkin patch!!! Do not let them touch you by any means, lest you become one of them!!

The rides in this zone are BATMAN: The Ride, GOTHAM CITY Crime Wave, HARLEY QUINN SPINSANITY, THE JOKER Chaos Coaster, and Mind Bender.

There is one games area, GOTHAM Games.

For shopping, there is Mindbender Ride Photo and the Big Top Store.

For snacks, drinks, or food, there is GOTHAM CITY Snacks (with ICEEs) and GOTHAM CITY Eatery.

Now we are entering METROPOLIS PARK ZONE. Run!!!! Its Alien Abduction, evil aliens are living, working, breeding and carrying out the most horrific experiments imaginable on human victims.

The rides in this zone are JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis and SUPERMAN: Ultimate Fight.

For snacks, drinks, or food, there is Munchopolis Snacks (with ICEEs), Munchopolis Food Court, and Dippin' Dots.

Next we will pass through the PROMENADE ZONE. Very calm area, a few ghouls and goblins wandering about.

There are no rides in this zone.

For shopping, there is Six Flags Photo, Coaster Candy Company, and LOONEY TUNES Exposition.

For snacks, drinks, or food, there is Primo's Pizzeria, Old South Confectionary, and Promenade Snacks.

Next we will be entering the GEORGIA ZONE. LOOKOUT!!!! Piggy's Blood Shed, there are bloody butchers, seething mad and out for revenge running all over the place, it will take all of our resolve to not be their next victims!!!

The rides in this zone are Georgia Scorcher and Log Jamboree.

For shopping there is the Scorcher Cart.

Now on to Universal Studios. I am only going to detail the Halloween Fright Night (Fright Days) stuff and then give you a link to the park map for the rest otherwise this post will be 5 pages long.

First there are 3 Haunted Houses, which have Plexiglass barriers installed so that groups are separated from the scareactors. The groups go into the Houses one at a time and are kept separated from each other, so there is no rushing through by the Scare Supervisors. Each guest in each group is given a glow stick of the same color and the different groups are given different colors so the Scare Supervisors know which guests are in which groups. So on to the Haunted Houses.

UNIVERSAL MONSTERS - THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN LIVES

The bride is visibly and audibly upset that her monster is dead. How will she bring him back to life? The bride goes full mad scientist, by harvesting the blood of the brides of Dracula, she also performs torturous experiments on vampires and other unsightly beasts and we are caught in the battle. Other famous monsters are being used to help bring Frankenstein back to life as well. Will we help the bride or will she trap us and torture us like she is torturing the others?

    REVENGE OF THE TOOTH FAIRY

We have walked into a story about a child who doesn’t want to give his teeth to the tooth fairy, so evil fairies take revenge on him and his family and us! We start out in a literal black and white pop-up storybook which turns to color as we walk through it. Evil fairies are around every corner and even inside the walls. There are some gruesome creatures and depictions of dental torture sure to terrify everybody. One thing is certain these grotesque goblins intend to collect their bounty at any cost.

    BEETLEJUICE

We have entered the Beetlejuice world, more twisted and terrifying than ever. We will cross the bridge where the Maitlands died, and enter their beloved house. The form of Beetlejuice with the snake body resides in this house as does the sand monster. We will step across a threshhold that will take us into Juno's reception area, and interact with the dead waiting for their number to be called. We will wander checkered hallways and through the model graveyard as the infamous bio-exorcist, Beetlejuice, haunts us, taunts us, and torments us at every turn. It’s showtime!

    SCARECROW STALK

This is a scavenger hunt game that’s free to play called Scarecrow Stalk. Similar to the Christmas tree we played during the Mini-Winter ROAD TRIP 2019, you follow the map around the park finding skeletons or scarecrows. Find them all for a candy reward.

    SKELETON BAR

The Skeleton Bar is a combination counter service restaurant, bar, and spooky walkthrough located at Cafe LaBamba. Here is a link to a fansite review with pictures:

There is also the Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) Tribute Store. This is not just simply a souvenir shop its a walk through three fabulous areas in their own right.

The first room is devoted to The Bride of Frankenstein. There is an anteroom, depicting a ruined Frankenstein’s castle (a nod, perhaps, to 1935’s The Bride of Frankenstein, which ends with the good doctor’s home being destroyed). This leads to the first main themed space: Frankenstein’s lab, which is filled with turning gears and other iconic equipment from the classic ’31 film, all arrayed around the central Monster, who is hidden under his sheet on his infamous slab (waiting to be resurrected). There is a ton of merchandise available here, starting with the Universal Classic Monsters and moving on to “30 Years, 30 Fears” retro wares, such as t-shirts, pins, and shot glasses.

The second room is devoted to Jack the Clown, the original Horror Nights icon, who presides over Oddfellow’s Dark Carnival and Emporium. This area is dominated by classic Halloween colors and iconography, including a large amount of jack-o-lanterns and portraits of the other event icons. A huge selection of masks is also at hand here, representing a wide swath of IPs from years past – Stranger Things, Halloween, Saw, and, our personal favorite, Ghostbusters (in the form of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man).

The final room is devoted to Beetlejuice. We start in the iconic graveyard where the bio-exorcist resides, which acts as a sort of entryway to the whole experience. Right after that is the main themed space, where the merchandise and cash registers are arrayed between all sorts of other callbacks: there’s the staircase equipped with the snake form of the ghost with the most (it comes alive every 30 seconds), the infamous Dante’s Inferno Room, the Maitlands aged and dressed in their wedding attire and hanging from the ceiling over a false doorway, and the receptionists’ area from the office of Juno, the afterlife caseworker, which doubles as the check-out counter. After making any purchases, to exit, we head for a small hallway that recreates one of the many, zany corridors from Tim Burton’s land of the dead that takes you to a final, tiny area, Juno’s waiting room, where Beetlejuice also ends his arc in the movie.

There is also a sweets room. There is a theme that carries throughout the entire room, which is decorated as a type of catch-all, blacklit attic. It has just as much atmosphere and is just as spookily decorated as all the other areas we have been to.

The items are divided into 4 categories, savory, sweet, and (of course) large and small doughnuts. And you can also find a few additional offerings, such as a Graveyard Cake, in a display case nearby and cherry gummy candy beating hearts.

    SAVORY

    Striped Pretzel Striped Foot-Long Dog
Bacon, Cheddar, and Scallion Waffle Stick with Jalapeno Maple Syrup

    SWEET

    Beating Heart Sour Cherry Gummies
    Halloween Confetti Cake
Red Velvet Blood Spatter Cake Pop
    Werewolf Chocolate Cake Pop
    Vegan Brownie Skull
    Severed Limb Lime Slime
    Lemon Mummy Tart
    The Bride Cupcake
    Frankenstein Rice Crisp Treat
    Stolen Teeth Tart
    White Chocolate Mummy Pretzels
    Zombie Cookie Dough Cup
    Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cup

    LARGE TRIBUTE DONUTS

    Glowing Large Electric Eye
    Glowing Large Worm in Dirt
    Glowing Large Fruit Circles
    Glowing Large Jack-o-Lantern

    SMALL TRIBUTE DONUTS

    Glowing Pumpkin
Glowing Black & White Striped with Neon Green Drizzle
    Glowing Boston Cream Mummy Face
    Medium Maple Bacon

    VOODOO DONUTS

Jack the Clown Doughnut – yeast doughnut with vanilla frosting, Bavarian filling, and raspberry jelly
Pumpkin Spice Doughnut – yeast pumpkin-shaped doughnut with vanilla frosting and pumpkin-spice Bavarian filling

That is all of the major Halloween Fright Night things. There are additional kiosks and such located throughout the park where you can get souveniers and food that are Halloween themed.

Here are links to two maps for Universal Studios Florida, the first is a pdf version, the second is an interactive map, both are from the Universal Website.

I hope everybody had a blast on the Mini-Fall 2020 ROAD TRIP, I know I did. Hopefully Covid will not derail the Mini-Winter 2020 ROAD TRIP too much. I will post the dates for that soon [TM].
