Did 5 or 6 (as a Leather Healer) together with my Merc (Plate Tank).
Got 1 Fabled and these were Chain Boots =P

So theoretically I should finish the zone, exchange my merc with another leather healer and my chance would be higher to get a leather WIS fabled? Somehow this doesn't sound right and feels like ... well, cheating.

Well, half the time the item will not be smart loot. And that's a good thing for those of us farming gear for an alt.

All I have seen in chat is everyone selling all this great gear from Adv Solo COE instances. I have ran them for three ... yes 3!! days now and only ornate drops. Then I see that free and Silver account resrictions are being lifted YET AGAIN. What's the point Sony? Over 2 years of me paying REAL cash to a game with very little to few rewards for being Gold, a total PAIN to obtain raid gear, etc., only to have free and Silver accounts all around me with better gear? And they get better drops? You are either in a raid guild, or you are nothing .... but we still want your money. That is EXACTLY how I feel. If you want to make change to the drop tables, then why not give GOLD members the good stuff? WE PAY FOR IT!

This has nothing to do with silver accounts. Get your facts straight.

Up to 12 runs, 2 str items, 1AGI, 1 int item, 20 WIS items. You may not think it's broke, but I sure do.
  6. Geothe Active Member

The issue is that you can EQUIP most for the Int/Wis items, even as a Tank/Scout. And vice versa. I'm pretty sure "smart loot" only looks at the usable class listing on the item. Not the actual stats. So for it to be effective with these solo zones, all the Wis/Int items need to be changed to disallow fighter/scouts from equiping them, and the other way around for Agi/Str items. Then smart loot would actually be effective.

It's a total PAIN to obtain raid gear by solo questing? That's terrible!

Actually Silver's must pay I believe are 25SC each meaning $0.25 per upgrade multiplied by 7 Armor Slots (Solo-Zone Fabled) SOE still profits for it by almost $4 and chances are they will pay for spells, runes and later upgrades.

EM-Raiding is openly accessible in CoE considering I have used my Heroic Paladin and a group of 11 other Heroic Level Players (whom I did not know personally) and we cleared Altar of Abhorrence up to Baelon of Thule/Borrodas. The only thing stopping anyone from Raiding in CoE at least on the Normal Mode level is themselves.

I don't like that Primal/Gehnin Touched gear is 179 and has a red slot personally I think it should have 172 and a Yellow Slot minus the BP which has a Red Slot. It has been proven that all the "solo fabled" gear is actually Raid Level trash-loot which can be even farmed by 1 group with how easy AoA is. You paid for long before the game went F2P, so you got the service long before anyone Silver did.

Basically, any player cannot really expect to win an argument with a company on the basis of "I paid for it so I should win" otherwise games would come with cheat codes pre-written out for you or have a "press this to win" button. MMO's are changing the Pay to Play model is outdated and for really old MMO's like Everquest 2 is quite dangerous they need the micro-transaction market to keep the game going.

Also ideally Microtransactions (without being Pay to Win or Purchase-Power) were to supplement the game and then Expansions would be free, however that is still unproven if it will work. Also note I am not really singling you out Pohondo I am addressing the larger group of players who seem offended about Silver Accounts being upgraded.

    Silver Cannot use;
    - Legendary (which all level 92+ Dropped Gear is)
    - Fabled (which all Raid Gear and worthwhile gear is)
    - Runes that are Leg/Fabled
    - Master Level Spells

There are more but those are the "big ones" if you want to raid you have to pay. If not, well be happy and enjoy yourself and don't let what others have while still being extremely limited ruin your day.

That was a bit more wordy than I wanted but I hope that covered all the based I wanted to here. :D Happy adventures!

    My feedback:

Considering that it is now A LOT easier, cheaper and faster to obtain a full set of red slot +179 armor from solo instances than it is to obtain a full set of yellow slot Steward armor from the spirit merchant, i think some kind of update is in order. Either the gear from the solo instances needs to be nerfed or the steward gear needs to be upgraded. The current situation in no way reflects the difficulty vs. reward reality of the game.

riiiiight. because its so much more difficult running 3 or 4 heroic zones in less that a few hours and getting enough obols and spirits to purchase 2 or 3 of exactly the slot piece of gear you were going for. try getting 2 or 3 pieces of the AS solo fabled gear that is even wearable by your class in a few hours....

I know you're trying to be sarcastic and stuff, but at the moment, basically, yes. I mean, this stuff is dropping so often and selling so cheap that i couldn't even give away a piece of the fabled armor i got in DC this morning.
  12. Lungz Member

i know youre trying to be purposely misleading and stuff, but, just no.
it takes a week of farming heroic zones to obtain a full set of steward gear. and you can get jewelery and charms and weapons from steward.

are you trying to tell everyone it takes less then a week to farm a full set of AS raid gear? 41 zones down since the changes. 7 fables. none my class can wear yet. and no im not complaining, and neither are my buddies who got some upgrades, i like the changes.

and just lol at your comment about risk vs reward in this game. risk vs reward went out the window in this game about 6 months after its creation.

I've run maybe 12 zones and seen 0 fabled. Keeping an eye on auction, I see maybe one item in 6 that my class can use and the price isn't always cheap. I've seen some go for 750.
  14. Estal Well-Known Member

By my count that makes 24 items, if all of them where suitable for your class and an upgrade over whatever you are currently using you would be done gearing up, what would you then do?
They can't just let you be "done" with the game long before the next expansion.

A week if you're unlucky. My experience after the changes is that about 2/3 solo zones drop a fabled. You yourself got 7 fabled drops, so if you had sold those and bought the ones you need, you'd have your full set already. And it would be a better set than the steward provides.

If i was running a new toon, i'd actually do both. But i would use spirits for jewelry and farm the armor in the solo zones. It's better armor and easier to get. A zone like DC takes less than 5 minutes to do. So after a total of two hours invested, you'll have 24 drops. Even if it's 1 in 4 chances, you'll have tons of armor. Obviously you can't do dc EVERY 5 minutes, but you can do other zones and invest your time in between to do other things.

If you're a hardcore player that can spend 3-4 hours daily to run heroic zones, then yes, you'll have your steward set after a week or so. But in that same time, you could easily either farm the plat or run the solo zones to get red slot armor.
  17. Luceus Member

Really, 2 out of every 3 solo zones drop a fabled for you? Either you're the luckiest player alive, or that number is off a little.
  18. Luceus Member

Side note, I agree the solo fabled stats are a bit high. I'd like to see a 160-163 legendary armor set drop instead of just jewelry.
  19. Estred Well-Known Member

Instead of the existing 179's? I always felt that the "Fabled" from solo would be 173 while a Legendary Set would be 163.
  20. Luceus Member

163 legendary armor would be nice drops, with the occasional fabled drop.
