There is no constructive way to put this. It's a trainwreck. He needs his current head chopped off and replaced with a new one. The current head for the kerran looks like some sick, twisted hybrid between a horse and a lion. The snout is just far too long and exaggerated. It looks ridiculous.

what eq2 sets it apart from other mmos, was its grown-up looks while that human mage is fairly ok, that kerran is HORRIBLE it remembers me straight of wow, not saying wow is horrible, its just the direction i do NOT want to head here no artificial inflated armor, for gods sake pls NO weapons that large noone ever could hold, let alone use it in that jumparound diablo-gw2-mess
The armor isn't as massive as everyone was making it out to be imo, it's not Warhammer 40K and heck that may just be one type of armor. I do agree though I hate the "Lion" Kerra.
Yes, it is. The shoulder pad is twice the size of his head. The armbands themselves are almost the same size as the shield. Even if the size was fixed; it would still be extremely cartoony and terrible looking.
Well it is using Planetside 2's lighting engine, albeit with modifications. EQN has to somehow attract old and possibly new MMO players. While I don't fully agree with EQN, Georgson had a point when he said "for the past twenty years we have been playing a lot of Dungeons and Dragons." I do not like the Lion-Kerra, they remind me of stuff from Madagascar (Alex the Lion specifically). However EQN isnt' the only game with large Pauldrons. The Kerra on the left's shoulderguards are as big if not bigger than her Head. The Iksar on the right has Shoulderguards the size of his head. The big difference is that in EQ2 the shoulderguards are on the shoulders in EQN they appear to be "floating" making them seem much bigger than they actually are. Yes, the arm guards are large. The Kerra is built large. However that is not a full size shield (or at least I hope it is not) that is more a Targe Shield than a Kite/Heater and is nowhere near a Tower/Pavis shield. Btw thank one of our guildmates for the picture shot of the Kerra reference. EQN is probably not going to hit well with the EQ2 crowd because of it's stylized look. I personally am very interested in the Voxel builds and terrain interactions myself.
i do not particularily like that either, BUT...its still quite a difference between this an the eqn-style the armor in your pics are just fancy in a way, and its only heritage-stuff (exactly where i started to wrinkle my nose in eq2 aswell) however, the general armor doesnt look that way the eqn-stuff is different it looks like a general direction they're heading, with the outlining much more squared and edgy the kerran is build large? well, i dont know....its a triangle on a stick his shoulders are what? 5 times his thigh? even his hands and feet are bigger than the waist it looks ridiculous and nowhere near anatomically credible the armor stresses this even more i understand its a bully-type character here, but does he have to look like on steroids/botox? the armor leaves large parts of the body exposed, where the parts that are covered are like 2-3 inches thick or something? the chest (usually the heaviest piece of equipment because it should protect the most vital parts of the body) looks like a tshirt come one, this is far from being a credible armor this just looks like lichking meets arthas

Well said. My issue isn't so much with the look of the armor. It's the credebility of it as actual armor. In EQ2 the armor LOOKS like armor. Fullplate covers the body. Unless that Kerra is wearing Partial-Plate, which while lighter and more maneuverable leaves gaping holes in the protection. A warrior in Partial-Plate would be relying on speed to compensate for the holes, then why not just wear light-armor? Yep, that's why EQ2's "massive shoulder pads" looks realistic. They cover the shoulder not the space above the shoulder. How is that Kerra in EQN even supposed to look to the side? Turn his whole body? In Warhammer 40K the giant-shoulder-guards are because the enemy they face can quickly and easily decapitate a human, that makes sense.
I am expecting the ratonga to look like the rat in brutal paws of fury....I would not mind this but other people would hate it. Also I cant find scans of him and I am too lazy to scan the manual my self and the brutal paws of fury art style is all over the place. so here is this. The fox was the only one I could find a scan of.. The art style in game don't really match up with the bio cards... If they was going cartoony I would accept this....sorta the rat and most the characters had at least semi real bodies and muscles in the right places. The cover of the game is about as far as I would want to be with everquest if it ever was going to be cartoony it's cartoony but not too much. The new Kerra upper bodies is way to big for me to like his center is too small and lower body does not match either and it turns me off on the character .

Why are they even voting on Ratonga; didn't they do the same thing before EQ2 came out? Of course if you add an option to add something people will vote yes. That doesn't change the fact that Ratonga are among the least played and least popular races. If they truely want to know how much the players want something they should add other races to the vote. The whole thing is just gimmicky.
Sarnak are the least played race. I see far more Ratonga's then them in the world of EQ2. Unless it changed and you have the data-feed to back up the claim that Ratonga's are less popular.
Well taking into account that SoE want EQN to be more cartoonish I think kerra body and armor look pretty good but the face is just too close to the lion king movie from disney
I think they said they more don't want it to be another EQ1/EQ2 which essentially is the same core-game with a new skin.

Actually your the one overreacting here. It's very easy to read the wrong word. Simply saying "Estred, I said that Rantonga are among the least popular race, not that they were the least popular" That was all you had to say. You are insinuating that my response was an attempt to be mean and an attempt to make you look foolish when it was simply a case of I read your statement wrong and responded before reading it again. You took my words far to harshly. Having missread your post as a claim rather than an opinion I wanted data to prove the claim. Since indeed your post is just an observation no data is needed, we may all observe differently and frankly you are right. Ratonga are among the lesser played races.
