I'm pretty new in general. How should I go about finding people to play with given that I'm quite a bit late?

I agree with the 2 others , join a guild you will find friends and help .
Find a guild that fits your playing stile , it's no good to join a raiding guild if you don't raid , or a crafting guild if you don't craft .
All guilds that recruit are found if you press U for Unions, and they usually post what kind of guild they are .
There is also a guild section for guilds to advertise and players to look for guilds on any server on this forum .

honestly i found the best thing to do is start ur own groups. do a /who 20 30 all see who is in ur range and find a place u wanna grind from https://eq2.fandom.com/wiki/Dungeon_Timeline and just go for it
