This has happened before - found this from December 2016. So ended up copying my wife's full folder of 26gigs over to a USB key and then to my PC and it works. So issue is NOT my PC.
Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm having the same issue. Yesterday mine installed just over 50MB and it stopped with the same error as everyone else here. Same on my wife's PC. I've tried all suggestions. Ran as admin, rebooted PCs/router, everything. Tried running everquest2.exe. Nothing works. Just hoping someone found a fix.
This worked for me. A cache folder I missed, folder launchpad.cache in the launchpad.libs folder. I deleted the folder launchpad.cache, started eq2 launcher and it came right up. Did the same on the wife's PC and since hers hadn't installed the patch yet, it started downloading successfully and worked fine. Hope this helps if anyone else is having this issue.

Im getting the same kind of errors. It shuts down after the first attempt though. tried reinstalling, deleting cache, running as administrator, running everquest2.exe. nothing works any help would be great because my friends and I just came back to this game and we want to play together.
