How do I use "Axe of Decapatation" in either hand?

The "Axe of Decapatation" from the NotD hedge maze says "Duel wield" but I can't put it in the secondary appearance slot?
Am I doing something wrong or is it mislabeled?
The headless knight who is guarding the chest it sometimes drops in uses two, if I'm remembering correctly.

hmm i havent had this issue. i am able to equip two in the apperance slots.

It seems you can't move it directly from one slot to the other (without going through an inventory slot).
And testing with other toons I didn't want to attune two axes if I could only use one so I was trying to move them back and forth.

Ok, I spoke too soon, but I think I found the problem,
appearantly Shadow Knights can't dual wield, wish I'd known before wasting an axe but that's the way it goes.
